VNI going to be a mean pvp ship while cutting back on multiple semi-afk ratting… just perfect. GJ
They will nerf anything that gets too popular, not just drones… gotta learn not to take it personally.
But yeah, the Ishtar nerfs and sentry nerfs were pretty rough. Myrm nerf? I don’t remember one of those… unless you just mean the sentry nerfs.
Yawn, standby Krabbing Tears…no wait botters don’t cry, but do drifters?
I like the idea of a full reset of alpha skills. The players will reallocate, no harm, no foul, no skill books. The botters will reallocate, no har…oh, wait ::ponders::
Even the bonuses along on my “nerfed” version of vni still could make it the armor version of gila with only 1/3 of the hull cost
and BTW caracal navy isn’t balanced, even with the drone bay it is still the worst navy cruiser, it has no fitting room whatsoever
VNI changes looks O.K., but what about drones for alphas - first, what come in mind: maybe stop nerf alphas and telling, this game is free to play? Make it paid again and done with that? Or - would be just fair to offer SP redeem for such changes, because we talking about main skill restriction. but thats just an option. In general it leads alphas to leave this game forever... And looks like omegas are scared, alphas will stole they
r bread… xD
Don’t know if someone else write this befor.
The changes on the VNI are ok in my opinion. Don’t like it, but I think it’s a usable way against botters.
But one thing:
As a big friend of drones and drone boats I always have to chose wisely wich weapons damage I increase with upgrades.
In the Navy Vexor it would compensated with a slot more.
But what’s with the alphas limited skillpoints? As an alpha I’m going to loose damage when I can’t skill med-drones to lvl 4, plus I can’t use lvl 2 drones.
My only option are now navy-drones and the integrated ones. Both are expensive and/or weaker.
To balance this I must skill my weapons to t2. That’s seems a lot of skills I need in the future. The question is now why I must skill 2 skills to high lvl when I’m deciding to create a droneboat-pilot?
If I prefer missiles I must level up the missile skills, if I prefer turrets I levelup my turret skills.
A dronepilot must skill drones and turrets/missiles. And in the end he can’t use his preferred weapon not very well.
I can fly battleships but can’t use the midsize-cruiserkillerdrones well?
It’s not good balanced and I think it weakens all who prefer Gallente ships.
Hope it’s understandable what i wanna say, my English isn’t very good in my old days…
Wow, good job on shafting Alphas who’ve spent RL money on injectors etc.
Just give them the sp back, to train into turrets - as you suggest.
Lel alphas spending RL money. If they were willing to spend RL money they wouldn’t be alphas.
Like Rotsuda said… an Alpha who’s willing to spend IRL cash on injectors shouldn’t be Alpha, they should be Omega.
Absolutely not
The same people that think it is designed this new vni.
The injectors they bought are made for alpha characters exclusively.
Bye Bye hunting botters lol
C’mon, pick a side dude. Are we against botting or pro-hunting? Cause your statement just makes it sound you want easier targets.
The Blackout there is kinda made things bad for anyone botting didn’t it? atleast that’s what came to my mind when i head the whole thing. I haven’t played in a while so maybe i’m missing something here. but local doesn’t give the same guarantee it gave back then, that there isn’t anyone in system wanting to blow you up. if it’s someone in a loki or something with a cloak, you wouldn’t know till he appears on your grid, which by then is already too late for you to get out of (insta warping isn’t for VNIs… right?) I personally went on several trips to null, hunting but only saw a single VNI through my 60 jumps or so. and that dude wasn’t even afk. i took my sweet time to find him on my d scan right after jumping but had already materialized by the time i did. he saw me on d scan and he was gone.
I haven’t used the VNI for PVP (I’m still new to that side. mostly a frig/destroyer person) but it wasn’t impossible to PVP. not like it was remotely possible even. I’ve seen enough people doing PVP in VNIs after the pwg nerf which idk was when.
CCP… don’t you think… you just jumped into another big decision that WILL effect alot of players who does not belong to the group you’re trying to fight off… too soon???
IMO you could’ve let things flow for a while and see how the blackout would affect botting and how botters would overcome that (if they ever will) Too fast CCP… too fast :3
Dear @CCP_Falcon,
Ok, ok , ok ,ok… So this is the ‘‘WAR ON BOTTING’’
what I don’t understand is that you use balancing to stop botting, aswell as the whole ‘‘no local’’. I think botters will find another way, eventually, and then you will have to nerf and change stuff again, just to hit them a bit.
what about skill farming? what about the whole Alpha clone thing? if Alpha clones are the main cause for botting, just make eve a pay to play game again. If you want to keep Alpha clone state, just make them only be able to skill up into a destroyer, after that, they will have to pay to play. Remove alpha injectors, since they don’t make sence. Maybe even make EVE free to play, but only for 14 days trail period.
Remember when EVE was a pay to play only game, with a 14 day trail? That was how I started. There were still botters back then, before Alpha clones, but just a lot less, I hope.
I personally like the VNI change, it is waaaay overdue, and sounds like some nice changes.
How can we stop botting, as a community? That, is the question you should be asking…
Maybe you could give rewards to bott killers. Put huge bounties on botters that you find, and let us take care of them. Maybe even make it an event. Instead of nerfing ships and clones and whatever you think will help.
Let us help you get rid of bots, maybe even use the Drifter AI to hunt for bots, since I don’t see any reason for them to exist at all, I think you should give them a real purpose, like concord.
By now you must have a huge database about botters patterns, and if you let the community in on it, I bet we will help you take care of the problem, no nerfing needed, because a lot of us love to see pretty explosions in space.
Sometimes I think you (CCP) think you have to carry EVEs problems on your shoulders all by your selves, instead of realizing what a great community you have, and the willingness of people to help, where it is needed.
If you give us the tools to find botters… We will stop botters, and make it so hard for them to do what they do, that they eventually quit.
… First off, the Ishtar’s been changed enough, CCP has been leaving it alone for a bit now, let’s not… yeah. Secondly, an Ishtar with only 2 heavies or sentries that are damage buffed is WAY too similar to the Rattlesnake, and CCP made the changes to Worm/Gila/Rattlesnake so that they’d be different from Vexor/VNI/Myrm/Domi/Ishtar/Eos.
… with this VNI drone nerf, I’d say they should buff the Myrm, but they probably won’t.
Amen to that. I have 3 POS/POCO/citadel-bashing 100MN VNIs (800 DPS each) sitting in Amarr… guess I’m never undocking them again. They are now a monument to the past 125 m3 bandwidth glory days.
I mean, they’re free to do that… but they’re also free to ignore the temptation to engage in those MTX since they’re a rip-off. Either save up ISK for omega or save up IRL cash for omega, you’ll be better off, even if you can’t omega 24/7/365.
I get that you weren’t referring to large or small regular injectors. I’ve never used the daily alpha ones, though CCP gave me 3 of them during some event a few years ago, but they seem to me like–as I said above to Einar–a rip-off. Better to save up for the real thing: omega, with double the training speed, access to every skill in the game, ability to fly t2 and t3 ships, etc. etc.
But I’m a spoiled omega for over 6 years now with 1, then 2, then 3 omega toons… sometimes subbed, sometimes PLEXed, sometimes both at once mixed… and I’ve never even tried alpha mode for a minute, so… what do I know.
And you don’t see an issue with that? People getting ripped off (either IRL cash or ISK) should just suck it up? You have a weird view of the world.
Everything very beautiful and beautiful. Unfortunately this does not end with the botting players.
The new VNI will have more DPS. and the creators of Script, will take more than an hour to reprogram a new automatic Bot, to handle drones and turrets. Personally I do not use VNI, but I see that they are killing the game, and now it is not the enemy that attacks our economy, now it is the same game. Do you really think that this will bring more players? This game is not easy to pilot boats. and for the Alfas it takes a lot of time to collect resources. Today, with all the changes, the Local off in Null. I can pay my Omega account in 1 business day. What will you do now? Will it eliminate all anomalies and leave 1 alone in each system? Do not you see there are fewer people playing? Stop that you do not have much brain when making changes. Can you add new things and not delete and delete and continue deleting? or I’ll have to stop playing, and look for a game where the creators do not put obstacles to the players- CHEERS
Since it’s pretty much whining for a FREE service no I don’t see an issue…
And if they paid real money for it because they want to max out their toon as quick as possible then that’s the gamble they took. They haven’t ‘lost’ the SP it’s just on hold for them for when they either upgrade to omega or get enough SP so they can use an extractor etc…
it really is a perfect example of entitlement gamers crying… lots…
I wouldn’t mind paying for omega if i had time to actively play the game. within a month if i only get 10 hours to play and no more, why would I upgrade to omega? I would play those 10 hours i get just because i know my abilities within the game aren’t going to be any different. and i wouldn’t mind paying once to up skills to levels the CCP had defined to be within the limit alphas can use. and then you buy injectors, inject into those. and then CCP does this and decides not to give those SP back. (IMO they should’ve made it an option. someone who was just out of omega could keep the SP that way and someone who doesn’t plan on going omega could request for it. Skills that had similar changes were handled this way before) And you’re saying it’s fine? No one asked CCP to make that skill available to them. They did it on their own accord. They get money and suddenly take the skill back… that doesn’t even look remotely ok to me
