Discussion about "Into the Abyss" update

What module came out “okish”, and with what stats?

abysal 100mn ab 610 pwg 40ish cpu 285 cap activation 136% velocity increase turned out of a t2

Looking back i feel it’s alot easier and safer to farm lower tier mutaplasmids if that’s what you want

I’ll definately just sell the damn things for what the market is going

Raw stats, or with your SP?

Hmm, the more I think about it, the less I think these should be applicable to T2 mods.

T2s are the baseline for balance.

These multiplasmids have already started being nerfed into oblivion, so the only players who will benefit from these are the super space rich.

If they arent useable on T2, CCP could conceivably increase the chance of the rolls.

DED/LP module market could use more sink.

So many people worried the ded market will crash. If it does people will use the plamids on those modules. The market will recover. There will be equilibrium.

Difference between DED/LP modules and T2 modules, is their frequency and sourcing.

T2 forms the baseline for most PvP. DED/LP are “bling” and cant be produced on demand as T2 can.

The concern is not just that DED/LP market will take a hit (which it will, since mutated T2 will grab part of the market), but T2 markets getting more expensive as T2s are sunk to make mutated T2.

I’m interested about these RNG items; but how will we buy them at trade hubs ? how can we have a clear classification of the item with a price range, and how will we sell them ? Contracts ? that will flood the contracts even more.

T2 will ALWAYS be needed, in large amounts.
DED/LP modules are niche.

Yes.

Good mutated modules will be as bling as officer and DED modules, and probably more expensive.

Everyone is considering that there will be an infinite supply of mutaplasmids, but that is a flawed hypothesis. One player can only do 4 pocket/hour, and one pocket will not provide dozens and dozens of each mutaplasmid. Even if you consider an extremely generous 10 mutaplasmid per pocket, they are divided between each type. You have already six categories, each with several module sizes and often several modules types. I think that considering ONE specific mutaplasmid per pocket is already a very optimistic guess, and that mean 4/h/player. Considering the numbers you need to reliably get a good module that is already very few. Simply consider that the discussed neutralizer, discussed with very generous hypothesis on the stastistical distribution, would require 9 man-hours to get the mutaplasmids IF you get the 4 mutaplasmids you need each hour, which is very unlikely. I don’t think officer modules are rarer than that.

So again, the simple availability of mutaplasmids will prevent good mutated items from flooding the market.

I’m waiting for mining mutated modules

Would continue to do so as well if:

  • T2 modules are excluded from mutation.
  • T1 modules become an automatic success into a T2 module (No abyssal tag)
  • DED/LP/Officer modules can be pimped into upper-end bling.

This wont harm the T2 module market (except for T1 mutated to T2).
This wont harm the DED/LP/Officer market, as they will risk bricking some mods in attempts to roll a “super-mod”, for the top end of the market. Those modules with variable stats will be indemand for players with very specific needs they cant otherwise achieve with T2 or standard DED/LP/Officer modules.

EVE needs the T2 baseline to be as universal as possible for consistent PvP balance, both in stats and market costs of the modules.

If you want a bling module, look at DED/LP/Officer mods. (As now.)
It you want an even more bling/specific DED/LP/Officer mod, look to the mutated contract market (but be prepared to pay the mutators added value).

I do not think that these modules will be overly expensive. The Plasmids will be available in ample supply as likely thousands of chars will farm these abyssal pockets uninterrupted and unhindered. Believing otherwise is foolish as a glance towards Delve and the Rorqual mania (which was declared equally unlikely to happen) over there proves. Ridiculously powerful mutated T1 modules will be widely available.

Hence my suggestion in the post above yours.

The T1 and DED/LP/Officer module markets can handle the sink, T2 cant.

T2 modules need to remain the universal standard for EVE PvP.

They really need to revamp the contracts window, its going to be a pain in the ass finding these in contracts

I was averaging 1 every 7 minutes…Did they change the difficulty since yesterday?

what ship and what level?

Vigilant Tier 1.

Why? Does it really take most people the full 15 minutes each and every time?
