Other mmos are irrelevant remember? But just in case… Other mmos dont charge 20$us a month. Other mmos dont require you have alts to progress. Other mmos require too much individual focus to even be able to effectively play multiple toons simultaneously without input duplication.
We already do. Now they want even more. Thats what this whole threadnaught is about. A lot of us just arent gonna do it, and they already know that. Im not sure what they’re smoking on this one, but id sure like to try whatever it is.
You talking to us or ccp? Because we’ve always done that. We are why eve still exists. They’ve squandered it on many wasteful and disappointing projects. They’ve failed to capitalize on cosmetics like literally every other online game, not just mmos.
We arent lucky, we did that. Ccp is lucky.
They’ll have to find some way, maybe not this, but something that adds significant value to the subscription. If they up the price, have their hand out for things that used to be included, and continue to reduce player incomes theyre milking it to death. Plain and simple.
What was being asked was to be able to play with all THREE character slots on ONE account, for the price of ONE. That goes against paying for THREE characters (THREE accounts) at the SAME TIME.
That would result in a reduction of 3 paying for a THREE character concurrent play.
Sure you can have THREE characters in ONE account playing in the universe at the SAME time, if you PAY for ALL THREE, not for ONE account.
If you want THREE characters in play at the same time, you have to pay for THREE, not ONE.
I don’t think that’s ever going to happen, do you? Seriously? Also the effort required to change and test that, for convenience? I don’t think so. I certinaly don’t see it being considered for the price of ONE account. Why on Earth would they reduce their revenue by giving effectively away 3x multi-char multiboxing for the price of ONE?
This is a case of multi-accounters wanting to get a lower cost (by a factor of 3).
Thats where this is headed. 1/3 price hike with no additional value added and whispers of further monitization fluttering about… Buckle up, it aint gonna be pretty if they dont give players more to earn that extra money. And i dont mean game content that they should’ve been providing all along, i mean function/utility/qol. You know, things that add actual value.
Yeah there are a few of those around and its obvious. Another reason not to trust the company. If they have to resort to those kind of tactics tyhey ain’t worth supporting.
That’s what shortsighted companies care about, bottom line.
Altough, most people still have some omega left, plus there is a promotion as we speak, so the damage will probably be felt later on, in a few months or so.
We can expect another artificial increase during and after fanfest, depending on what they’ll announce (probably more promises) it probably wont last tho.
And this also means stagnation, as EvE is now the most expensive MMO to play on a basic level, this means even less new player retention than it used to, which was already quite abysmal seeing as how unfair the game is with newbies with high sec gankers, and scammers, and whales and whatever else.
Let’s be honest here, if you can’t afford $20 for an Omega subscription, there are probably better things you need to be doing with your life than playing online video games. You’ll spend more eating out at a fast food place one time than a subscription costs…
