[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

I don’t want to know

A week ago I was actually starting to think that maybe, just maybe, I would actually stay in EVE for a little while this time. Despite the fleets of .SAFTEY ganking bots that CCP will do nothing about, despite the absurd mining changes and all the rest of it I once again tried to extract a little fun from this skeleton of an MMO. And now this. Fine, message received loud and clear - you don’t want paying customers, assholes? Wish granted. I had two friends who were about to resub this weekend with multiple accounts…thank God I saw this announcement and had time to warn them. See you all in a better game, folks!

ITS GREAT TO SEE CCP blocking all transmissions from people who are legit annoyed and voicing their displeasure at the CCP devs who are “Hard Working” people, the same dev team that have basically been STEALING paychecks for the past 3+ years whilst systematically screwing the consumer base over and over again, I’d like to thank @CCP Bureacat for SILENCING me on discord, you like your Dev team breathren are a useless waste of space, you can now go back to your bar and drink your stolen paycheck all the way to fanfest, I look immensely forward to the day not far from now when CCP files for bankruptcy and you and your ilk are thrown into the current job seeking market, with your “Immense” customer service skills I’m sure you’ll be able to find gainful employment at a local Mcdonalds as that’s about the level of customer service you aspire to provide.

Yah… That’s it for me. Thanks for making that easy for me CCP.

PA bought it because it was a good place to stash money as a capital investment that wouldn’t be taxed, rather than liquid or stocks, which would be.

And no, CCP has said more than once, there are no plans for ‘EVE 2’. Even if they did, it wouldn’t work. You’d be in a position where the large blocs could hit the ground running, because we already have all of the out-of-client infrastructure to migrate our organizations over effortlessly. And if you think the null bloc dominance is bad now… ugh.

CCP puts out hiring notices all the time. Why are they hiring if the game is on its last legs? Because clearly, they don’t think it is. That doesn’t mean they’re right, and given their track record of predicting the behavior of their customers… you’ll never lose money betting on CCP to be wrong.

As for CCP employees being ‘ok’ with the current direction… right, because if they weren’t, they’d be telling us, right? They’re not under NDAs themselves, and publicly making statements that could be seen as damaging the IP’s value couldn’t negatively impact their paycheck, could it?

So yeah. You might be delusional. Or just clueless.

No, $425 was including the performance targets, and it was clearly said on the investor call when those targets came due that they didn’t hit them.

Irony is, selling players the SKINs we’ve been begging for for years (corp skins, alliance skins, structure skins, just the ability to overlay the already-in-game corp/alliance logos onto whatever SKIN) would make them just a ridiculous amount of money. They get all ‘oh, well, we couldn’t keep selling those, though’ because apparently, they imagine people will buy 1 alliance SKIN, and completely ignore all of the OTHER ships they fly, but again, chalk that up to CCP having exactly zero clue how their customers will behave.

Link please.

The level of knowledge CCP has about its consumer base is shrinking by the second, and if you aren’t looking at this price hike and calling its what it really is which is a price Gauge and realising that this is CCP is attempting to suck the last morself of profit they can before they crater is absolutely niave.

After finally returning to the game and attempting to commit once more rather than go on another multi-year hiatus, I’m immediately met with a price increase to a game that offers nothing in return for the hundreds I have already offered to it. Zero new ships. Zero new gameplay, Zero evidence that the price paid to the game has been justified or well earned in the first place. I am thoroughly disappointed and hope this ridiculous, greedy, and inconsiderate decision is quickly reconsidered.

Trigs don’t shoot you if you are positive to them, Neither does Edencom. But to get positive to both requires shooting rogue drones or sleepers when actually IN Pochven.

I have a toon that tried to help prevent the inevitable loss of the 27 systems. It as a -2.7 to the Trigs. I’d have to shoot about 1000 rogue drones to fix that. Fewer sleepers, but that is an endeavor in itself.

One of my fresh new alts has been podded by EDENCOM NPCs in Pochven. Was neutral (no standings) to both Trig and Edencom. There must be a glitch or intention.

nope just crap programming from uselss devs who havent got a clue as to thier actual jobs

Find some rogue drones IN POCHVEN and kill one. It will fix both edencom and trig if you are really at true neutral. The will all turn white to you.

The REAL players, on the other hand, will try to fillet you.

You keep asking for links to ■■■■ that you argue as if your an expert, stop talking out of your ass

No, I asked for a link to a claim that should be easy to verify. Calm down.

The sold it for $225M. They got $225M upfront and would have gotten a second payment of $200 if they’d met certain revenue goals which they missed.

Their 2021Q4 sales were 18.4B ISK (Icelandic krona) which is 6.5M USD. At that rate it would take over 10 years for Pearl Abyss to break even, and that’s before you deduct taxes and operating costs from those sales numbers.

According to this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/tqy1ti/comment/i2kjvvj/

Pearl Abyss sold bonds that are coming due in 2024, and bet big on some games for the Chinese market.
With the collapse of Evegrande, the new draconian lockdowns in China and the Gov crack down on MMOs… Pearl Abyss is probably will probably lose hard on that bet.

PA probably demanded a 5M a quarter profit to hit a 20M year RoI and the loss of Russian customers probably means CCP won’t hit that mark this quarter.

With PA’s own money problems looming they are likely demanding CCP squeeze even more from eve.

This is the reason for there changes. Not inflation.

Pearl Abyss would not own CCP if CCP hadn’t squandered their money building several new game engines for WoD, made Dust, lunched dust only on Playstation and then made Eve Echoes.

I’ve even heard rumors they’ve been posting jobs ads for FPS developers again, because they didn’t waste enough money the first time.

Funding a secret FPS and bonds coming due are not “rising global production costs”.

It’s the lying not extra $5 that makes me angry.

Dear CCP,

Price is not the biggest issue i see in you’re annoucement.
The issue who upset a lot of people is you’re REASONS.

Basically the elephant in the room is sub price remain the same if we sub 2 year against one. You have take note of yo’ure weaknest after scarcity thing.

But basically it’s why people stop trusting you : Charo era and scarcity.
If you have breing back the game rorqual era industry and farming level i will have said : 20 dollar for a game of fun and content (because yes be able to fund a tons of pvp ship to roam is fun, spend DAYS OF FARMING for one ship is boring).

Actually if you speack in content quality you cpompare at when i have start the game i need to paid my sub less of 5$ per month.

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated.

Of course I did soon after (that’s why I visited Pochven in the fist place) but if I’m not wrong Edencom NPCs shoot their enemies, not neutrals. I never visit Edencom combat sites; those podded me were Edencom NPC gate campers.

Considering no price change since 2003…not really. Even with a modest 3% per year inflation rate most prices would be close to doubling…so meh…

I don’t have a problem with this price increase. In fact, I will probably add another account.
