In reality price increase will not have an issue if :
-They have take into account some country will not be able to follow the increase (some country already receive increase of sub price years after years).
-They have made content for the game and not killing content. During rorqual era if they have announce game at 20 $ a lot of people will have cry, but people will not have start to massively said bye.
And Iāll say these are all fair to excellent points. I am a bit surprised it has taken this long for a price increase, but wow somebody needs to get better at packaging the bad news.
Welllllā¦cost alone does not determine price in general. But to the extent that this is true and there is sufficient competition this may not play out like CCP planned.
CCP are operating under the delusion that Eve Online as a product is worth more than WoW or FFXIV. I look forward to reading the CCP copium sentiments about how the playerbase is toxic and it isnāt their fault they produced a game for a cost almost no one wanted to pay for. Breathe deep and make sure the āitās not my faultā flavored copium gets into your lungs well. Youāre going to need it.
And for my dear CCP white knights, even with the expansions every couple years added in, Eve Online will still be more expensive than WoW or FFXIV. Donāt worry, CCP are doing the right thing for the good of the game. There, there my dearāyou too need to breathe deep.
I for one welcome back the days of 5k online during peak times.
Iād have to go digging for exactly which quarterly report it is, and tbh, CCP has my give-a-crap level way too low to put in that level of effort about any of their stuff.
Well, hard to believe i have money for 2 accounts anymore, maybe downgrade another or even both, littlebit too expencive to me. Lucky you who can pay 2 years at onceā¦
To be fair to CCPā¦to me it is worth more than those games you mentionā¦but thatās me. If those are viable alternatives for you though, then good luck and Godspeed and sad to see you go. [But uhhhā¦can I have your stuff.

I also love how their trying to bait-and-switch newbs with the $10 for 30 days Omega deal. Scumbags gonna scumbag.
Low introductory offers are extremely common for many subscription based services.
I just listened to the soundcloud Q&A.
Spoiler: āWait until fanfestā seems to be the only answer to any meaningful questions.
This big announcement better be on the scale of doubling the size of the universe or something or itās gonna fall very short in my book.
ā ā ā ā ā , ā ā ā ā ā , ā ā ā ā ā . Life is too damn short and full of too many obstacles.
Got online today and did things with friends and talk and created bonds.
All for the price of a latte a week.
Priceless.
Thatās not bait and switch.
New content when? Updates to old content when? Finishing abandoned content when? Quality of life changes for new and current players when? Basically asking us to give you more money monthly or a large amount of money up front with nothing extra to show for it.
Oh and all this extra revenue now and itās still not enough to tell me when an asteroid is depleted⦠![]()
@CCP_Swift well looks like you going to lose a LOT of members for the game, you guys are getting too greedy now for this game it seems. i know i would not want to pay those prices for plex, especially since takes 500 to even get omega. also if your making omega $20 you best make it worth the increase, but then again not like no matter what we say, will really matter at this point. you guys have a set date and everything before even listening to the community. good job ccp.
You should be absolutely, abjectly ashamed of being the mouthpiece for this.
well i have removed all my subs for all 13 characters i have. good luck ccp one being successful after this change
So providing a third off a $15 sub (which they havenāt done in about 5 years) hoping you donāt notice the price effectively DOUBLES next month isnāt bait and switch? Sounds to me like you get ripped off a lot.
So besides the 30% increase, what āadded valueā are you guys talking about?
Because including the expansions with the sub kind of defines your business model. Or as the last 2 years have demonstrated, NOT including A N Y new content with the sub is par for the course.
