Do you have to play forever?

Yes, you do, there are NPC stations in null - if you choose not to use them, that’s kind of YOUR choice and you need to take RESPONSIBILITY for YOUR choices.

Not many (if any) NPC stations in sov null.

That’s YOUR choice where to operate.

You don’t get to claim the benefits of nullsec, and then refuse to accept the risks.

If you guys can’t handle nullsec, maybe you should move back to Highsec??

They can’t move back to highsec, they keep getting ganked.

Hahahah :+1::+1::+1:

You must be living under a rock or something, this very mechanic is being used by certain hisec entities that force certain station owners to hand over public stations and then let them go abandoned and then blow them up and scoop the loot. It has been going on for quite some time.

Hardly unique, except it was a Keepstar, that was the unique part…

This is why I thought abandoned structures losing asset safety were dumb. Coming back to find all your ■■■■ stolen because you had the gall to take a few weeks off is not going to improve player retention.

What I find especially egregious is that citadels are LESS safe than what used to be player stations in nullsec. At least with those you had the option of firesaling your stuff or otherwise finding some sneaky way to extract it, here if your station goes abandoned it ejects all your stuff into the hands of some sticky fingered mouth breather.

From where I’m sitting, CCP has been purposely suppressing player numbers since 2005. There have been so many obvious opportunities to increase our player base over the years that have been ignored. The whole, “niche” approach hasn’t helped either. World of Warcraft sucks (IMO) but they have 26 million active players. How does that happen?

EVEOnline should have MORE player than WoW…easily.

Something I’m missing:

If the Keepstar was owned by AOM, how did Goons get control of it?

AOM apparently tried to sneak into goons by way of ranger regiment, went as expected.

But I still don’t get how the ownership/control of the keepstar changed from AOM to Goons.

You’re treading on a slippery slope…

Yes, OP, once you start playing EVE, it’s forever. There’s no way out. If you ever try to bail out, CCP “businessmen” will pay you a “friendly” visit to you to remind you what’s expected of you. So know your place to avoid situations hazardous to your health.

Own a structure,

You will learn quickly that you can just right click and transfer a structure to another corp as long as you have the roles.

Solution: don’t buy things you can’t store in an NPC station if you plan on taking a long time off

Let him do it!

OP, you made the mistake of trusting CCP.

Do not trust CCP. Even better, win Eve and find a better game to play. Or put that subscription money into something more entertaining.

I don’t remember when it occurred to me, but Null Sec in Eve is a great example that power abhors a vacuum. Where there are no rules, humming beings will invent and enforce them. But there is a lot of empty space out there.
