It totally does, from other ships on space, gankers attempting to attack, other haulers to operate with, use as cover etc to buyers of stock but most importantly sellers of stock.
But as I said, I almost exclusively haul now because CCP has been changing things up a lot.
But because I mostly do one thing, am I mot permitted a wider view? I have done a bit of nearly everything.

But I have seen a multiplayer space game which relies on instances, its called Elite Dangerous, and for all its other merits its a lonely empty place where players rarely interact or see each other because its so heavily instanced.

But the people farming the Abyss hardcore isnât even really HS. Its coming from null.
You can def run Abyss in HS smartly, and avoid ganks. But honestly? If you want complete safety just do it in umbrella land as part of a big alliance.
You just print ISK for the most part unless you just RNG.

My point is now that youâre being way to extreme about this. Instanced content isnât the reason why the player base is dropping. Events are cool. Remember weâre still talking about Dr. Who. Yeah this one js instanced apparently, the previous ones werenât. Like, itâs not that big of a deal. Some stuff good, some stuff bad, depending on who you ask.
I hope the player base expands to such a degree that we can have good instanced and openworld content without you thinking that it would make the game look dead. Thanks for being civil.

It is not DrWho cross over event per se that bothers me. Its those events that will probably follow.
I think story, lore, the setting is crucially important in worldbuilding. Some games dont need that. EVE is not a MOBA though, its lore is the foundation. Empires, races, bloodlines, story. Its where motivation and conflicts start.
You can put in easter eggs or pay homage to other stories without breaking immersion. But cross over events will break it.
With all the handwavings CCP Burger did with the lore in the past years, with all the inconsistencies, with all the abandoned storylines, I dont feel there is EVE lore anymore. There is flavor text. Shallow. Meaningless.
I feel stupid investing days and weeks on lore trips. Wonder what people who collected Drifter Hive elements think? Triglavian researchers?

I donât want to see the Klingons trying to blow up the Death Star. I donât want to see Daleks fighting Adeptus Astartes. I donât want to see a flying saucer shooting at my Tengu, and I donât want to have to open a phone booth to loot a âThe Doctorâ mission item.
Give me some original content thatâs consistent with whatâs happened (lore-wise) in EVE for the last 17 years. This isnât OASIS, this isnât Fortnite, I want to play EVE.
At some point, it turns into a game about pop culture references instead of being a game that stands on its own two feet.
