Yup, good thing I already unsubbed all my accounts.
No, because we’re capsuleers and we are pretty much mercenary by nature. We’ve set out on our own, with no base affiliations, to make our own way in the universe. We don’t care for history or politics between empires, we do our own thing as it pleases us. Just like some people hate the British empire, some people are indifferent, and others like it, people RP as Amarr haters, or Minmatar slavers, or whatever they like.
Yes, right, I meant lore, like the Trig invasion, the start of the Sansha incursions, the Battle for Caldari Prime, etc. Actual in-game events dictated by CCP that have enhanced our gameplay, have helped to build the in-universe story, and made the universe richer. Not the fact that Guristas are ex-Caldari Navy.
Its why games like EVE are dying out. People can barely handle it as it is now. It saddens me honestly.
So true. New World peeps lost their minds cause they gave a harvesting bonus to actively flagged PvP players.
Oh excellent chap Just contract over that stuff eh?
Yes. And RP and lore are different things. You may enjoy the lore but you def don’t RP
Yes those are lore and events. But the thing you’re actually talking about is RP, which you don’t do. Ergo Who has no impact at all over your gameplay and you quit a game over a scarf.
Sadly its the players who make them sell out due to voting with their wallet.
When UO shifted and I knew it was changing, there wasn’t anything anyone could do. Because the bulk of the player base was threatening the wallet of the company despite that it would change the entirety of what game was.
Now, am I glad UO is still going? Yes and no. I have fond memories but also how it could have been so much greater.
So you still support CCP. Got it
No, you’re really not. Lore isn’t immersion. The immersion you’re talking about breaking only matters if you were RPing on the daily, in game, which you are not.
You already admitted you don’t RP, thus no immersion.
I think the premise is: the time war in Who space is causing some inter-dimensional instability and flinging crap into Eve space. We find that crap, tinker around and make a filament that lets us pop across the boundary between universes and loot some space junk.
It looks like there willl be no real consequences in eve world. Just few items. It can only mean something for the doctor who fans in eve to have some clothes like doctor or such things.
Hmmm, the Darlek story is coming back to me now. I vaguely remember a head darlek called Stavros was it? I think he may have been half human and half robot, Maybe they will tie this in to eve where Stavros’s research was crucial in creating cloning tech.
Also, the series of Dr Who episodes related to this crossover might actually be about a futuristic world set 30,000 years into the future where people can never die and can clone themselves thanks to a highly technologically advanced totalitarian society.
Yes, so this is an opportunity for a good story and to hopefully get some new subs.
You still have an active account. Guess you aren’t as mad as you thought huh?
So you agree that lore isn’t immersion, excellent. And you realize if an Ork believed it strongly enough, it’d happen right?
Sorry bruv. You know you don’t got a leg to stand on and are simply dancing
Exactly. Immersion is the second thing. You are doing the first thing while claiming to do the second thing You don’t give a fig about immersion son. You literally just quit a game over a scarf.
Now if you say you RP as a blood pirate in game and that the event would break your RP immersion, that I’d buy. It doesn’t even impact the lore in any meaningful way.
Its alright bruv. Just admit CCP ganked your soul and HTFU.
Davros made the Daleks. Dr Who also made Davros so its a neat little time thing.
LOL what happened to your plan of killing them all?
Just a minute. In this crossover we are supposed to help Dr. Who against the daleks who are evil cyborgs. Now all capsuleers are cyborgs to connect to our pods, and most stuff ourselves full of implants in addition.
Capsuleers blow up ships of enemies or just those we can get a bounty on with not the slightest thought for the crewmembers will kill. We set up factories on planets without the slightest input from any inhabitants and shut them down at whim regardless of what it does to the economy. By most yardsticks we’re pretty evil.
So, we’re supposed to fight against the daleks? Hell no, capsuleers do what they damn well please. I want to fight for the daleks.
And of course has NOTHING to do with Eve Online, they are two indepentent entities.
I’m still waiting for them to add clothing that doesn’t look like it belongs to Ken and Barbie.
I’m a proud Bogan (look it up) and just want a worn out flannel and ripped, faded jeans complemented with a wests beanie
Had a Donkey like that. Fixed him with a sharp knife.
PM if you’d like some help with your problem
It’s actually pretty cool the way the title music has evolved over the years, I’m feeling the military sounding version with the strings.
Other interesting info, Dr Who’s ship looks like an old police box because the cloaking/camouflage device failed and is stuck in that form.
One thing for sure is that this has got me considering watching a few episodes of Dr Who again just for the sheer fact they have a ton of sci-fi stories. Good looking out CCP, the bottom line is that BBC do have a huge following worldwide for more programs than just Dr Who and they are a good partner to have in the Digital Entertainment industry. BBC still do lots of magazines including sci-fi, CCP might get the opportunity to advertise there.
Hopefully this is part of CCP making a film or series based on eve, as the bbc are well connected within entertainment.
same. i just subbed for 4 months, days before this was announced. I feel like its a waste of money because i have zero interest in playing the game after hearing this ■■■■.
Homeworld was on sale. Playing that, and Gods Will Be Watching. Maybe i’ll do a replay of Icewind Dale after that. I’m just gonna start replaying older games. Let the kids have their turd sandwiches.
