Lol. Why ratters cant reship?
The issue I want to address is All the risk and loss is on the person doing the work. There is no extra benefit for the defender, or the person who did the work. If you defend the ESS you get the isk you already gathered⌠nothing extra just the original isk. So your success has no additional benefits. But the attack has everything to gain for little effort. This is simply unfairly one sided at all levels.
Not true. If you defend the DBS will raise ratting bounties.
Thatâs a poor answer to the issue addressed. Ratters reshipping isnât the issue.
I think the only result of that change will be a new bot, who will sit near ESS in system with ratters, in the event neutrals apear in grid, will claim bounty and leave/die. Nothing generally will change, only new opportunity for botting programmes will be created.
If you want an example how to prevent excessive ratting and RMT - take a look on movies industry. Instead of forbidding, what they did - they provided very accessible alternative (eg. Netflix, HBO GO, etc.). This had more negative impact on piracy that any other restrictive measures combined applied before, along side increased revenue. Do something similar for EVE - make hunting less boring and annoying, stimulate people to enjoy it, it will reduce RMT/botting and people will care about ISK less, thus will be more in favor to PVP as pain from loosing 1bil ship will be reduced. At least that what I would do.
Defending from a small gang will most likely have little to no effect on the payout %
You cant take out the bounty instantly, you can take out 5 million / minute as it is on Sisi now.
If there is only 1-2 small gang / day, you can rat safely.
It is just a very raw example. I think certain people will find the way to minimize loss in automated fashion.
How they can do it?
what can 3-5 reshipped ratters do to 10 man gang?
They can die and make âtrue PeVePeersâ happy))
Guys your missing the point here. When you talk about numbers of people youâll just go round in circles and the point becomes moot. The issue I am addressing. Is the lack of benefit to those doing the work. The attacker has next to no risk, just their ship. And they have everything to gain. The ratter has the possibility of losing hours of hard work and gameplay for no additional benefit.
If they cant defend their space they should not live there.
Also if you live in a null alliance you have much more people and intel, so you can defend if you want, just now there is no need to defend anything at all. You read in intel that a gang is near, dock up, wait until they go away then continue your afk ratting while doing other things alt-tabbing, etc.
they cant reship in time to catch someone already racing for the ESS. all the usual defender protocols as mentioned are important. this is a new wrinkle where the incoming threat has yet another target . the question should be, why does the hunter need this extra target/isk and why does the system owner get nothing in return for adapting to this new mechanic? (it cant just be killing the intruder , that was already an option)
They can because taking out money is not instant.
I agree with that to an extent. Some group will struggle where other wonât that eve.
Funny, that´s kind of a thing a wrote to others âif you can´t catch anyone - it´s your fault, if you can´t invade - you are not supposed toâ.
Alliance can defend space but can not defend absolutely every system all the time from everything. No one will form for 10 map nano gang that is harrasing some remote constellation.
You need to defend your space, not isk in general.
I hope that at one point i will stop reading about intel channel as about an Ultimate Solution To Everything.
Then maybe they dont need that much space. This change is one of the best in years. Alliances have to be organised or they will suck.
Anyway, there are usually no enemy fleets in every system. There are 1-2 gangs roaming a region, that could be handled easily if people were not lazy or if they can organise themselves. But its meaningless now, gangs can roam and you not bother at all to fight with them, just dock up when they near, undock when they are farer.
