The best thing about that ESS ■■■■ is that one can see how much ISK was accumulated in the ESS and how much time left before the next payout remotely, even without visiting the system. So, the thieves do not have to bother checking every system to see if there is anything worth to risk their ships.
CCP, why don’t you tranfer the ISK directly to their wallets?
to give care bears like you a chance to defend it?
Yes I am a carebear and I want to stay so. Is that a bad thing? And what about putting some effort in it if you will steal some isk. For example, remove that ESS intel from the Agency menu. Let the thieves have to take more risks for it. How about that?
Why are you even bringing this up? Where did I say it was a good or bad thing?
We do. We literally fly all the way out to your system, sit inside a 75km bubble without MWDs or MJDs, and wait for 5 minute while the game alerts you “Hey, someone is accessing the bank”. You have plenty of time to dscan and see what ships we’re flying and fight back. Otherwise, we’re going to take the isk, then carry it all the way back to empire space to sell it.
What you’ve written suggests to me you have absolutely no idea what the challenges are being on the other side of the engagement and are just making up stuff.
Perhaps that was the idea, but then were suddenly upwell deposit in hostile citadels and asset safety in place for risk averse pvpers.
Then looks like you guys should have tried hard to kill them? Iono.
Isn’t it funny how afk ratters start talking about “effort”?
Thanks for the ESS CCP! This ESS is the best feature in EVE in a long time!
All weekend and weekdays since ESS were really cool! Instead of everyone just ratting lonely and silently, semi afk, people started to chat with each other, planning and bringig defense fits to their ratting base systems, quessing if they should or not engage. Lots of ratters suprisingly like and wants to fight back, systems based chat chanells created with fittings advice, chit-chat, people starting to know each other. Sometimes we shoo some fleets, tactics are still developing. Some of us loose some ships, but anyway, why you accumulate ISK if you not spending it ever. So its really good.
On the other side, i joined some robbing fleets also, bank robbing is very fun, we had some good fights and chases.
For people who say this system needs to change, they are wrong. Some said they are swarmed with outnumbered fleets, but that’s wont be the future. ESS money is just good for small gangs, for bigger fleets it’s not really worth to rob so little money/person.
Someone said he has to wait 3 hours to get his money, this is not true, just start ratting 1:30 or 1 hour before the 3 hour timer ticks, so you don’t have to wait that much.
Someone says it needs to be harder to access ESS, i bet they haven’t tried the robber’s side. It’s not as easy as you think. You have to bring back the stolen money somehow to safe place, there is no filmament back to high-sec.
One thing i also noticed, especially in bigger alliances, that they still need time to adapt to the system. People not used to be on coms, they can’t respond fast enough, however usually they have more than enough time to form a response fleet, as they know from intel that a gang is showed up in their systems. We have around 100 people in standing fleet all the time, but 90% of the time people not bothered to form any response fleets, and just let 5-10-20 man gangs to rob their ESS. However i see this is changing, as people starting to realise that it’s not that hard to defend their space, it just takes a little effort and a bit of organisation. Who can’t and more frequently just too lazy to do any socialisation, are just deserve that 40% of income goes to other hands.
So thanks CCP, exciting times seems to come back to EVE finally.
Any exciting battle reports to share with us?
in this video you can see the cool roam from yesterday, from 02:07:01, things start to get very exciting and a very cool fight emerged with multiple engagements
also when there was a filamenting back to pochven, it was another cool fight.
Stop making assumptions, not all are afk ratters, many are casual dudes funding their pvp ships.
You used"carebears like you" in a positive attitude then. Ok.
You exactly know what everybody is doing in the game. You know who is an afk ratter and every other thing.
My kind regards to you Mr. knows everytihng.
Nope. He knows everything. Those idiots who look down upon everybody.
When I tried the feature, I realized, that it’s actually a master piece feature with a very good balance, to foster engagement in the game and maybe also effectively fighting bots.
The first time in my EvE life I can imagine to move to nullsec, but I found Povchen is the better home for now.
… and now CCP, please remove all instanced PvP/PvE.
Depends. If you and me were in the same alliance and you’d cry in intel your ESS is getting robbed while you do nothing but krab all day, I would not interrupt my own krabbing to help you… because I already know you would never do the same for me.
Hostiles will know this too after repeated attempts. After a while they will pick YOU to victimize and leave me alone, because I’m not going to make it easy for them and surround myself with likeminded people. We would liken ourselves to a herd of wild oxen in contrast to domesticated sheep that do nothing but graze all day.
How “bad” that is I will leave up to you. We all have to live with our chosen playstyles, do we not? I like to PVP and lose a lot of ISK that way, and to your metric of success that might be a bad idea as well.
Carrier ratting might be very active, but you’re also constantly aligned and can’t be caught unless you do not hit warp for half a minute despite spotting the enemy on dscan.
If you’re just idling in anoms waiting for pvp regardless, how is this a loss? You might now have no one telling you to anchor up, but this ESS is attracting what you state you yearn for anyways.
Some crap based on no information in these lines. As far as I can see many people here have a lot of false assumptions about others and they accept those assumptions as solid truths. I krab all day? False. I cry in intel my ESS is getting robbed? False. To be honest, I did not lose a single ISK to those ESS thieves. Believe or not. Up to you. But please guys do not rely on your false assumptions while typing stuff here. At least do some research before you claim something here. You look so ridiculous and ignorant when you write on something you know no ■■■■ about.
At least the adjacent systems can also be effected, maybe 50% more or less when ships lost.
Never thought me n Brisc would be on the same page on much, yet here we are.
This thread truly is a 2020 Xmas Miracle.
