Encounter Surveillance System Update

This is concern trolling.

Populate nullsec? Sure, but the issue is that we don’t want anyone populating nullsec.

Do we want people who will plant a stake in their systems and fight for it? ABSOLUTELY.
Do we want renters who do nothing but krab in it and dock up when neutrals appear? NO.

I would rather have people who plant their flags in systems and fight for it than kids like you who will dock up the moment a Neutral appears in Local chat because you’re so terrified of losing a cheap replaceable krabbing Myrmidon.

No. It never was. The fact that you’d suggest this shows more about your misconceptions of EVE Online than anything else.

Nothing happened to that. It was a false idea you came up with yourself and imposed on the game without any basis.

first time poster, claiming they have input on the “last 2-3 year”, lol yeah right.

Consider me a concerned long-time player who finally decided to speak out and join the discussion. But I guess bullying and ad-hominems are the way of the forums so I will go back and be quiet again, clearly my input is not needed or cared for. Thank you for making this clear and have a nice day.

No “you” don’t want anyone populating nullsec. Fortunately CCP has made it a clear goal over the years with pos, citadels, ihubs (with future changes coming to allow null blocs to control system rewards further) and ore redistribution. It’s Sov Null for a reason, it’s there to be populated by its very design and there is a large proportion of the playerbase that likes that large scale social fabric of being part of an alliance.

I shouldn’t have to spell this out to you. Quit projecting what Scoots wants as being what “we” the players want. Games are much more nuanced than that and cater for a myriad of different playstyles.

Oh dear… You really don’t understand how to cater to a wide audience. Eve Online is a business not a passion project. Every playstyle is there to be catered for. I suspect what you actually mean is carebear opinions are valid, however the space for such gameplay is high sec. I’d disagree with that of course!

Sov and null is (should be?) also a place for the grinders and workers who build the infrastructure and industrial foundations, not just excitement-fuelled hunters and pvpers. It seems that CCP is chosing to disregard the in-game needs of those players (players who are probably by nature, the silent majority!).

CCP caters quite cosiderably to those grinders and workers, the feature its accomlished by is called highsec.
If one chooses to play in an area where gameplay understandably designed to be harder one should not be surprised to find playing in said area harder.

Null has enough people who are grinder, builder, but can hop in a PVP ship also. Anyway, it’s not that hard. You don’t need to be an elite PVP-er for that, usually just need to outnumber the thiefs. 80% of the time that’s not hard at all.

Can you stop trolling?

I think it just shrinks null empires, non-pvp-er ratters income halved, so some people who don’t like pvp will leave, but many of them just stay and adapt, or swallow the lovered incomes. This change is good for 5 things: lowering ratting income, gives you an opportunity to go hunt in null with a small group, gives you an opportunity to learn small gang pvp as a ratter in relatively safe environment (as you can choose to engage against a thief gang or not), making friends, and urge people to organise / socialize more.

fixed this for you

A welcome change.

other than lowering the ratting income, everything you mentioned was already happening in null. Most combat in our space is small gang and has been for a very long time.
and to another poster, what makes you think renters dont fight?

I can dig that, though I’d rather take over a WH.

Please consider disallowing cloaking within 300kms of the beacon inside the ess, going into an empty ess solo only to have 4 nightmares de-cloak and shoot from 200kms is a nightmare literally.

what? and make you work for the isk? score one for the defenders

What I disliked: now gangs of 15-25 people can come in filaments at any time, and in 5 minutes you obviously don’t have time to collect protection against 15-25 people, and when you collect something your bank is already robbed, and robbers are sitting in a cloak in system and wait for filament rollback.
And one more index of military development is falling much faster than the percentage of payments of Concorde is growing, respectively, the index has fallen, the anomalies have disappeared, this must be balanced.

Please do not mistake my conditional statement (keyword: IF) with an accusatory one.

This is being quite fun, but I dislike the MWD restriction, and this is from the POV of a usual defender.

The MWD restriction means that you have to keep at hand some ships fitted exclusively for the task of defending the ESS, wich is always inconvinient, and it means that the robbers also come fitted specifically for that, and will avoid any other form of PVP that isn´t ESS PVP.

This is specially bad in the retardilament era, when cherrypicking the pvp style you want is as easy as filamenting in and out at your choice.

That’s not how it is, rarely when there is more than 5-10+ coming, and you also have time, because it’s very rare if they just filamenting inside your system directly.

it wasn’t happened before, people can easily just warp off from sites, now there is a bubble where you can’t warp off from

@CCP_Dopamine @CCP_Psych the devblog said “Cloaking is disabled” in the ESS

but many times we find fleets of nightmares/rapiers cloaked INSIDE the ess on the edge of the bubble.
last time i noticed it was nov 19th 15:31 eve time in RO90-H if you want to investigate.

cloaked stuff in ess is OP af and its just basically baiting you to get in and then get obliterated and there is nothing you can do
