Perhaps it is only rose colored glasses that make me think this, but what I liked about ‘Eve classic’ was, that I can recall, people did not whine so much about losing a PvE ship. Less ‘wah, I lost my ship’ and more ‘grr, help me get this guy’.
It’s like people sit around convincing themselves they are completely powerless, and in so doing actually become impotent by belief alone.
They didn’t—the casuals didn’t invade the game (and PC games in general) until the beginning of the second decade. When I was in the Privateers, even groups that were ostensibly high-sec carebear corporations would straight-up re-ship and field gangs to hunt us not just when they were actively pressed, but even when they heard that there were some of us around in the vicinity. Almost everyone was willing to fight. Contrast that with today, when spotting a single war target in a frigate causes 300-player alliances to dock up and log off for weeks while crying here or on Reddit.
Also, the mercenary industry was absolutely booming back then. Players were hiring us to attack others just because they were mining in “their” space" or took some of “their salvage” or whatever. Contrast that with today, when the “merc contracts” channel has been shut down for over 5 years because literally no one was willing to pay for work for any reason.
The majority of today’s EVE players are whiny, ineffectual wussies who take pride in their weakness and self-claimed victimhood. They view complaining about everything and a lack of self-confidence and assertiveness and positive traits, though that seems to go hand-in-hand with what’s been going on in the real world lately.
lol, what a fail troll, nowhere in this thread did I say anything remotely like that. All you forum warriors are exactly the same, reading way too much into what’s actually written and then twisting it all around to present it totally out of context.
But hey, more power to you if spending all your time here as a forum warrior really revs up your rocket ship instead of being in-game killing suicide gankers and protecting those mining fleets.
Yesm. The victimhood mentally is very strong meow. It is sad to see.
I was very sad to see that. I always felt merc corps were such a neat player content.
This should be emblazoned upon every station interior throughout New Eden.
How am I trolling? I notice you didn’t answer any of my questions. I notice all you’ve done is dodge.
Oh? Check my killboard mate. I’ve done more time in Uedama than you. I spent a month figuring out the best ways to AG and all the ship fits for it. I was going to post a guide but then I realized some things.
The guide itself is only effective if people actually DO something about ganking. And as you’ve demonstrated the majority of people in New Eden seem to think its impossible to do anything.
People don’t even follow basic space sense and fit their ships appropriately. If people actually fitted a tank on their indys, then they’d have a chance. But when people haul an anthanor/core thru Uedama in a t1 indy with no tank? Ain’t enough logi/antimatter to save them.
It isn’t out of context tho. You literally said tornados can only be used by gankers which is false. Hell, you can use a nado to gank the ganker nado since it’ll have no tank.
So just tell us what gankers using tornados for ganking has to do with people using tornados to shoot catalysts and why you find it so eyerollingly funny.
Don’t know where you got that interpretation from but in the future please learn how to follow the conversation correctly instead of twisting it all around.
You’re deliberately being obtuse and refusing to offer any clarity. You must know where I got the interpretation from (it is a direct quote) and, if it is incorrect, what relevant facts or passages I’ve overlooked. Can’t you just be earnest in a discussion and explain what you mean?
Every time someone catches him on a booboo he states it to be a personal attack of some sort, “allowing” him to then focus on said attack and how inferior that person must be for being so despicable. So he doesn’t “have to” actually defend his earlier statements.
If you had followed the convo correctly, you would have seen talk about a fleet of heavily tanked Mining ships can be protected from Catalysts suicide ganking them if they’re escorted by a support fleet of Tornados.
My reply was that suicide gankers also use Tornados as well.
Meaning they don’t just use Catalysts.
Anyway, you’re deliberately trying to twist things around when you know exactly what I’m talking about so please don’t play like you don’t.
I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and every chance to be understood. Sometimes I know it’s not the wisest thing I could do, but I still feel like I should try to get everyone on the same page so that we can all maybe learn from each other.
Of course you knew what you were implying. And no one ganks miners with nados due to the logistics invovled. So either you are completely inexperienced or engaging in sophistry.
Honestly, its kind of a let down. I’d expect better from a dude who made the standings guide.
But no one uses nados to gank miners. You can figure out why right?
