Is this everywhere or just certain regions of space? (this is just on billboards - yes?)
It’s everywhere. Usually where there are billboards, but I think I’ve seen similar effects in some other places IIRC, but not as often.
Not that this is a fix, but have you tried switching to a different shader setting (low, etc.) to see if it disappears? The patch today supposedly fixes some anomalies with the low shader setting.
Yes, I have cycled all settings through to low and tested each, and then I tried various combinations, but I have not tried all 362,880(??) permutations. Though I have indeed tried setting it all to baked potato as well.
Sorry, I should’ve assumed that. What’s weird is that I never got any of the weird graphics anomalies (star map, billboards, etc.) - just the issue with the tactical camera not displaying properly (new bug).
@Hatch_Nasty I also just tried your res and UI settings, no change with:
- Resolution: 3840x2160
- UI scaling: 150%
In your case, I would try setting your EVE resolution to 5120x2880 (your display’s native resolution) and setting the UI scaling to 200%, which would make it look the same as what you had at 2560x1440 and 100%.
@Hatch_Nasty at 5120x2880 performance degrades too far, becomes less responsive and feels laggy. The way the billboard polys seem to be related to perspective and distance on the “sphere” it does feel related to some miscalculation or off-by-some-factor bug. Incidentally, here’s a screen shot of the blank billboard projector “rod”:
Performance aside, do the graphical issues persist when you match game resolution to native display resolution?
@Hatch_Nasty With 3 clients running, setting one client to 5120x2880 @ 200% results in a drop from 60fps to 36fps, for reference.
At native resolution they do persist, yes
Ok, then. I got nothing else.
That’s good. Still no improvement for me. Just traveling in shuttles with multiple clients in potato mode, sound off, selecting jump gates, there is so much lag compared to a few weeks ago.
We need options to (same as Ambient Occlusion, regardless of Shader setting)
Turn Volumetrics OFF «« High Priority
Turn Reflections OFF
This will greatly improve performance on older MacOS systems. Thanks in advance!
As of today’s update, no change with the disco light show around gates and stations. I.e. I still see the animated/flashing neon block shapes as shown in the video. I could be crazy, but it may have gotten worse one or two updates ago.
For me it looks like the map issue at low shader setting is fixed
Still flashing polygons. Unsure about lag–in last couple of days I haven’t tested at number of clients I used to run.
Glad I’m not the only one with the flashing polygons. I was beginning to wonder if it was just me!
