Oh good (/s), another distraction for CCP management to focus on, rather than addressing their actual product. I’m sure they will fail catastrophically at this, just as they have with all of their other capital-draining side projects in the past.

Don’t get me wrong, after a string of doomed spinoffs and the mess that was Incarna, I get the skepticism. But I think Dust 514 was legitimately a very good, groundbreaking concept and I wish they could get something similar to work. I think it could enrich EVE and get a whole new crowd into it, securing its future.
And on the “addressing their actual product” front, I haven’t tried it but I’ve been hearing very good things about the new FW system. So it seems to me that CCP has been making some positive changes as well.

It was almost inconceivable that World of Darkness could fail. It had a built-in fan base, CCP had virtually limitless funds and acquired an entire development studio that they could have assigned to the project. CCP managed to fritter around and dissipate themselves. Eventually they just cancelled the project so they could focus on virtual reality or something.
I don’t think CCP knows how to do much of anything anymore. The idea that they could produce an above-average FPS in today’s saturated market seems absurd to me.

The Thing is, The older generation has next to no interest in FPS, Been there done that 20 years ago, CCP Has no idea of the mindset of its main player base. They have lost touch due to so much turnover in devs. (There what we call Nubs, in Real life.) Im close to 60, and some of my m8s, who still play eve are a lot older than me. The best time we ever had in eve was when we had lotteries, Bingo, Roulette, Poker, and all the other things people do when they are retired. When you can win a capital for a few million isk, this was the best of eve, not the hypercrap, which is a pointless. There RNG (Random Number Generator) system sucks. But CCP Knows Best,There faction warfare was a good update, But its still like a trying to plug a dam with your finger, rather then strengthening it with active isk sinks and great gameplay. But they deceided lets just tax every part of game play that people like. And watch them suffer, (Thats why the player base is a third of what it was a few years ago. ) and i think within 3 months, you will be lucky to see 16k online , if they carry on with there great ideas.

Anti-ganking system in EVE is called “high security”, or what do you think it’s high sec for ?
There’s even a player workaround called “be smart, noob.” but it requires a bit of experience in EVE.
Both of those aren’t 100% effective tho.

There should be some payment option in Brazilian Real.
