Convincing to you but people could tell you anything cause you probably are already set in what you do think being right.
Well that’s not true, there’s plenty of solo content in the game. Players will also see the benefits of corporations as they mature as a player too. Better to retain 20% more new players with new ideas than 0% by never trying anything.
Yes, so obvious to a new player, why didn’t they think of it before! Hello Zhalyd’s alt.
No, it’s just the arguments so far have been “already stuff in the game, change new players mindsets they can never change back, ruin eve open world”. Sorry, these are bad arguments.
And CCP is adding new stuff. But safe spaces to learn core gameplay of Eve is not the ideal route. They need to, as FW pilots scream, fix FW, before they think about safe spaces.
I’ve done my share of training newbros, passing them off to others to train in areas I lack. Never had one complaint.
Entitlements is not good for eve
FW is not a good place for new players, FW is a good place for vets.
It’s not entitlement.
Not an alt but thanks for trying.
In my opinion eve is for players who can life with it being a bit complicated. And yes perhaps some players are happy playing the game as a lonewolf but its not ideal to tell those people that they will have an easy life. At least if you chose some kind of “paths” in eve.
Its also true that for example solo pvp is probably one of the most difficult parts of eve. If you teach people to expect that fights are “fair” you dont make them happy after they leave those fights. Actually fair fights dont teach you anything beyond fighting npcs because the trick in eve pvp is to not be fair.
It’s also very time consuming and relies on a great deal of knowledge to know when you have the advantage. This is the exact opposite of what a new player needs.
RvB would advertise in help channels but they cannot.
So how can your solution be the best.
The question first should be: do we really need a solution for that problem.
Problems need solutions by definition, otherwise they wouldn’t be problems. The question is, can we make it easier for new players to get into pvp? Yes.
But do wee need to get players faster in pvp?
One of the reasons why players are so risk averse in eve is because they don’t understand pvp, it was too hard for them to get into.
Your introduction changes nothing in that regard to the positive but instead to the negative. People will come to expect that fights follow a specific way if they bring a specific tool and will be very disappointed when this is not going to be the case.
But most eve players are not that kind of players who will be pure pvp players anyways. And its not necessary for them to be like that. Im no pvp pro and have been playing for years.
Its just necessary to understand that they will lose things in eve and its ok. Its necessary that they have fun exploring the game and perhaps find a place and acitivy thats fun for them. Perhaps they will start playing pvp perhaps not. A lot of content for some kind of pvp players are players that are not into pvp so much. Thats eve. You need all those kinds of players. Miners, gankers, traders, explorers, f1 Monkeys, corp leaders, recruiters, haulers.
Last time I checked Tama was 4 jumps from Jita. The central hub of EvE is only 4j away from the busiest FW PvP system in EvE. How much more convinience for getting into action do you need??
Apparently a space where no vets are there and a bunch of newbs can attempt to see who has the biggest epeen on their ship to say they can pvp…
It’s not just about distance. It’s about the FW environment which promotes vets to fly powerful ships. New players are only going to learn one thing, which is not to bother trying to fight. They don’t have a chance to learn anything about range, tracking, falloff, or anything like that because they are almost guaranteed to make a mistake off the bat and get destroyed by high dps vets without being able to react.
