@Arthur_Aihaken Thanks, that was probably it then. I’m guessing that I must have drifted out of it before I checked the general effect symbol area. I was first looking in the overview for which ship might be causing it, then confirming the drain in the ship fitting window, as well as turning modules off and back on again in between.
I just recently starting flying a shield-tank into the Abyssal pockets, so I’ve not been paying close attention to the gas effects. Lesson learned, if that’s what it was.
It seems CCP didn’t really examine the consequences of having suspect status on exiting 4s and 5s without any kind of mechanism to allow some chance of escape. If your trace is discovered, it’s pretty much guaranteed you’re going to die.
I don’t think it should be risk free but right now it’s pretty unbalanced.
Well, from the fits that have been posted to run F4 and F5 filaments - I’d say ganking is a very real risk when you’re flying several billion ISK of cruiser around.
All over the Forums, on Reddit… There’s a couple of Sacrilege versions, a Gila I’ve seen and a few polarized fits. None of them are what I’d term “affordable” or “safe” in high-sec because they’re all several billion is ISK along with several billion in implants.
There’s ganking and then there’s legalized slaughter. And a suspect flag on exit is just asking for tears. They say a fool and his ISK are soon parted. This would be it.
The only fix for this is to have an Orca sit at the trace, and when you pop out you store your cargo in the fleet hangar and your ship in the SMB while you’re still invulnerable.
Completely diabolical but again this is what happens when you don’t consider the consequences of a game change.
It’s not, you are not forced to run those 4 and 5 in highsec. You forget that without the suspect flag, running those sites would be 99,9% safe in some backwater system. Though banning 4,5 from highsec would have been the better solution.
If this is possible I would see that as an exploit. The counter is to bump the Orca or your runner ship.
You people are so narrow minded apart from the pos shield thingy and the poping a tier 1 to escape and that orca tthing he’s suggesting there is 1 more very fun way to escape, atleast fun for the guy running the site.
Contrary to popular believe, not every one has a orca alt, or access to a pos shield, so it’s pop a calm for most of us casual little guys running the odd 4 in high sec.
If you have all the above then you most likely have other combat alts and/or corpies hanging about. I would say it’s working as intended as it’s the little guys gankers like to ■■■■ on anyway.
I didn;t say deadspace now did i?That’s 1 go on a bug hunt have fun plenty of sites and missions and other stuff with acc gates by the time you find it i’ll grow old and die.
Ok, i’ve given the new PI (or PP as it’s called now) a week to get used to so here’s some feedback:-
Good:-
placing multiple structures of the same type without having to reselect it each time
decomissioning structures by only having to select ‘decomission’ once
schematics to use highlighted when clicking on factories
creating links between buildings
better highlighting of extractor heads when hovering over them in the extraction info window
better highlighting of (in)correctly set-up routing
Bad:-
the new colonies window!! far too big and cumbersome. please bring back the old window or at least give us a ‘compact mode’ option’
colonies window resets to top of the list whenever transferring from launchpad to customs office. i have it small as it’s already too big!!
tool tips all over the place. an ‘info’ icon would be better. yes, i know i can lengthen the tool tip pop-up time but i’d like quick info on other things that change a lot more frequently than the PI i’ve been doing for the last 2yrs.
camera angle when looking at installations on/near the poles!!
the camera angle issue has to be the worst aspect of all the changes!! it was already slightly annoying trying to move the camera around at the poles before this update but this is totally abysmal!! i actually chose another location for extraction yesterday even though there were significanly less resources available.
even though i’ve only been doing PI for a couple of years, i’m glad it has been looked at and changed. unfortunately, for me at least, the bad changes outweigh the good.
I can say that since 2007 when I started playing Eve Online and went through the character revamp that Abyssal Space came into its own just like Wormhole space did.
