Allegedly.

Blowing stuff up is fun

Getting blown up is fun

EVE is fun.

I think that all of the games I play are fun or I wouldn’t play them.

Hm, I wonder if there are really pilots out there with such a low score. I mean it’s hard to believe that someone can play for months or years and never actually have the confidence or courage to engage a target that gives more than one point.

I remember how the CCP staff manually generated the kill info of the first Keepstar.

The nemesis loss was good fun against riot , we almost had him but he popped me 1st

You must do better

Oh you mean the F1 monkeys.

Well from time they came to high sec and:

  1. Proclaim that they were the best PvP’ers ever.
  2. Get their asses handed to them
  3. Run back to null sec with their tails between their legs.

Well atleast that’s what they did before wars became structure warfare.

Lol…so the Eve advert says…

" You can do down in history with an epic battle where you were completely outnumbered and came out on top ’

What history ? Where ? All the more ironic in that the advert is for logi pilots and unless they use drones and get ‘on the kill’ there is no ‘history’ whatever.

When is CCP going to add this new ‘history’ feature ? I can’t wait. It’s good to see CCP care so much about our ‘history’.

The stories aren’t for the kill boards, they’re for the forums. Like the one about the CNR I successfully ransomed with my friends that got popped because one of them accidentally turned on their gun rack instead of deactivating the warp scrambler with a hotkey and I had to send the ransom money back, or the time I lost a 10 billion ISK Orca to a gank because I got distracted by hentai.

What is ironic is that you still don’t understand, that since logis are not on the KM then CCP does not consider the kms are being history.
Your post makes no sense to start with. It’s only absurd because you start with an absurd idea.

History starts with writing, not with kms.

Slow has been having fun with black flag to spice things up.

Unlikely pipe dream but my wish list would be insurgency reaching uedama in some way.

That be……interesting. Safety, fw (probably all), thirill seekers from 0.0 not farming in fw currently.

But ccp would nerf that like they castrated hek probably lol.

Who do we send isk to for that?

That’s where you miss the point. I’m not talking about ‘stories’…I’m talking about ‘history’.

Anyone can invent a story. It may or may not reflect actual events. The Legend Of Boggy Creek is a story. Urban myth…a tall tale told on spooky nights. A complete inventory of everything landed on D-Day is history. And the thing is, history requires records. It’s an attempt to record what actually happened…rather than the tall tales people tell afterwards.

This distinction is rather useless.

History is written by the victors, even today people want to rewrite history, and in languages other than English the word for „story“ and „history“ is the same word. So semantic quibbling can’t happen over whether it is „story“ or „history“.

It’s only a discussion about the degree of truth and the number of surviving primary source artifacts to support it. Killmails are just one such artifact, but the history of Eve encompasses so much more.

* degree of belief.

But yeah, people claiming there interpretation of stories is what makes history are fundamentally wrong. They are using those stories as propaganda, that’s instrument of those stories, and therefore they believe whatever float their boat.
You see that all the time on the forum, with people claiming that Eve is solely PVP game and co.

People who are on a kill mail and not receiving a copy themselves seems absurd

We know that Julius Caesar, despite being full of self aggrandizement and propaganda, actually recorded his battles fairly accurately. So we know that certain things actually happened and are not just a fabrication or embellishment. And that’s nigh on 2000 years ago.

Without that actual meticulous record of what occurred, we’d have something more akin to the legend of King Arthur. Such a king probably existed, but there is zero real evidence of any round table or 12 knights, or Merlin, or hand rising out of some Welsh lake with Excalibur. We don’t really even have the location of his famous castle…and it is assumed it is it Tintagel solely because some 18th century writer promoted it as such. Most people can’t even decide where Arthur died, there’s over a dozen story locations over a wide area, whereas we know exactly where Caesar died. In fact most of the Arthur legend is 18th century fabrication.

So yes…you very much can ‘semantically quibble’ over whether something is ‘story’ or is ‘history’. These two cases highlight it perfectly.
