EVE Portal Discontinued

I’m using Neocom II. It doesn’t allow you to set skills or buy skills but it has wider functionality in that you can check how well your PI is doing and if it’s still running. You can check your market orders and see your wallet amongst a lot of other things.

It could be improved but that’s true of so many things these days

We need a game thats works properly without all the issues more than some phone app :frowning:

Disappointing, but not surprising.

Then play EVE Echoes

Translation:
This app was developed by an employee who made it in their lunch break. They no longer work here and we haven’t a clue how it worked.

Not everyone, nobody i know has even really noticed the app is gone because nobody used it, i think you greatly overestimate the number of people using this, because if it were an actual significant percentage they would have an incentive to keep it working, so the fact that they don’t see a reason to keep it alive should give you a hint as to how many people were actually using it

Yes, a workaround that existed long before the app was even a twinkle in CCP’s eye, the way people used to do it originally, so if, for some unknown reason i did actually need to access my account from outside of my home, i would just use terminal services or VNC, thing is, i can only think of 1 time i ever needed to access my account while away from home and that was at fanfest and they had PC’s we could use lol

The fact that CCP isn’t seeing any value in keeping the app going shows there is no real need for the app, it would have mattered when skill queues were more limited but now that this is not an issue, i don’t really see a point in the app existing when mail can already be accessed via the API

What urgent regular use did you even have for the app in the first place?

Pretty sure you can access those from your PC, NES loads up fine in my client as does the store in literally any web browser

3rd party sites literally can’t steal your ISK, the API doesn’t have the ability to transfer assets at all, and if you’re worried about someone looking at your EVE mails then you just write your own page to access them, problem solved, i suspect you don’t understand how the API actually works

I want CQ back.

Since it’s eve, the most likely reason a user posted contradictive messages is the user payed little attention and accidentially posted while being logged in with the alt that has a diffenent opinion

A very bad news!

I used the app to sell plex and buy injectors remotely.

Guess I dont need to worry about that anymore.

I’m so sad about this :frowning:
Let’s hope the new app will see the light of the day once…

So by reducing the cost for

  • this development and infrastructure
  • removing EVE Anywhere
  • removing Windows 7/8 support,
  • having a reduced support team available on weekends that is unable to solve or communicate issues with the game like the chat system and local

means finally the subscription prices will get lower again?

I’d rather it be shut down than pretend. So thank you for finally shooting the family dog.

Evanova is Android only, no iOS; so that’s unfortunate. I also believe it’s a 3rd party tool.

Oh no. What a surprise.

At least make a cut-down app with the features you can support. Give us an official mail app with push notifications at least.

Actually, the least they could do is put more effort into their API and allow these features to be externally managed by authorised applications. That would be the least they could do. Effectively outsourcing the management of the app and everything it does to third party app developers.

:sadparrot: Was really hopping to use the app.

Maybe we’ll get a new EVE/Vanguard app.
