Much better stop with usseles stuff and MAKE/WORK in zkillboard offical INGAME window. Its hilarious after 20 years, this game dont have that just like any other MMO having an external website as main source for the kills. Same for several stuff not available as official website just like a market tool (evepraisal, evetycon).

This game its dead as soon the zkillboard guy shut down the website.

The phone app was about social features. Which is something that could have been expanded on. It could be a pivot for CCP to develop social media apps. But instead they pivot into a FPS which is a market that is very saturated. Pivoting into a FPS in 2023 is like buying bitcoin at $64k.

On the other hand the social media landscape is disrupted, and starting a social media company in 2023 is like buying bitcin at $5k. EVE Portal could have been transformed into a social media app. They could even keep the name “EVE”. Its a nice name for a social media.

I really enjoyed and used the app, also to send out emails

The app was only useful for responding to EVEmails anyway.

We need an app to read mails

But here is what i dont understand. How much money does it cost to maintain an app where most of the work had already been done? I mean there are far more advanced 3rd party tools that are being developed and maintained in peoples free time. CCP really needs a new CEO asap.

Can’t even keep a phone app working when they control the changes that might break it. This is a big yikes

Well I find the app so useful as if I’m not able to play the game I can all ways use the skill’s to make sure I’m planning ahead and make sure I’ve got omgea as well it’s the small thing’s that help so many people out it’s like if something works then it’s right stop it. We don’t like that it’s like the government lol

Too bad. I was about to install it but then i read this Post. Sadface.

You just witnessed how CCP handles this things, just throwing out a half baked barely usable version and then immediately abandoning it, and then you ask for more of that?

The zkillboard and the various market sites worked for years BECAUSE they are not created by CCP.

No, as soon as the zkillboard would start to fail another one would pop up.

It sucks to see it go, but it was more problematic then useful in the last 6+ months.

In my opinion a chrome Web app that could be installed on your device the same as if it was a native app would be ideal but it would need to hook into APIs that CCP has a habit of changing or just not updating making it impossible for third-parties to provide a reliable app (copilot is great for writing code these days) but it needs the back end support from the game developers

Some things are best demolished to the ground and rebuilt from scratch…

What a joke announcement. To scrap the app because you din’t think that it will need maintaining.

I wish evanova was available for iOS =(

So, does this mean more coding resources will get put toward fixing the long standing API/ESI issues?

or merging a lot of the eve portal functionality into the API so that 3rd party developers can create a more secure, and viable Eve Portal-esque application?

HELMAR is more intelligent than every one else alive combined, you can not seriously question any of his decisions at all.
He’s gonna buy NFTs with the extra money to become the richest man on earth and rule the world with the same wisdom he runs CCP.

A golden age of humanity is before us, rejoice!

No no no, he is much smarter than that, instead he will introduce EVE themed NFTs and sell them, F1 monkey NFTs and become the richest man in the known universe.

Will you keep in mind the idea for a smartphone companion app in the future? That app was very useful for me, even to buy stuff when I wasn’t on Jita and to do NES shopping when I couldn’t access to PC.

Hahaha I know you are joking… but they tried sneaking them in:

this is worth USD $20

Yes I know, and this is why I sometimes crack a joke about EVE NFTs, a reminder so everyone stays vigilant and resist that garbage.

Really hard to take this company seriously. On one hand no resources to improve a mobile app, on the other lots of time for NFT nonsense.
