Figured I’d post my recent portrait as a member of the New Eden ‘Flamjaw’ Gang…

And as usual I went with color coordinated apparel…

Apparel

Summary

Odin Synthetic Eye (left/gold)
Men’s ‘Eico Flamjaw’ Facial Augmentation
Men’s ‘Outlaw’ Jacket (Burnt Orange)
Men’s ‘Olympian TorsoRig’ Body Augmentation
Men’s ‘Republic Valklear’ Pants
Men’s ‘Fatal Elite’ Combat Boots

My tip for portraits is sometimes a solid color background can actually help project your presentation better than interior/exterior environment type backgrounds, especially if you’ve already cycled through them a few times…

When that happens, I think it’s best to just pick a color background that matches the overall tone of the presentation… The background color in this portrait matches the color scheme of the ‘Eico Flamjaw’ Facial Augmentation which was the main focus for this portrait… It was also the overriding factor in determining the rest of the apparel items as well…

Even a Drifter Crisis can have its perks.

I’m down to 16 colours, I don’t think less is possible. So the answer to the question “How much more black could this be?” seems to be “None. None more black.” indeed.

Impressive.

Even if I fill some of the black parts with grey tints in paint I don’t see anything resembling a silhouette.

How did you break the character creator like that?

Like this basically, zoom all the way in and move it as far right as possible. The right part of the portrait with the highlight on the hood will get cut off, see offset discussion above, and the top left part will be black due to the background. There’s a lot of trial and error and waiting for the game to render the high quality portrait and checking if it’s good.

Now that I know I see the edge of the hood top left and brighter part on the hood on the right side in the grey patterns I made above.

Still completely black to the eye. Nice.

This a creative approach. Thanks for sharing the process. Very cool.

I made this one some time ago for my alt that sits on Jita, lorewise is a Consultant that keep getting mental flashbangs by Achasse’s constant indiscriminate spending on stupid stuff from that station.

What I like it is the effect that the more you zoom in, the more shocked his expression become, so every time I start using my alt, I can feel his gaze get more and more judgemental.

No idea, haven’t seen that one before!

Maybe it’s one of those bugs of feet in the air or lack of colour in (parts) of the face that sometimes happens. But I’m not sure what part I am looking at here.

This is supposed to be a head :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
You can only see the goggles and the face covering of the triglavian liminality suit, the rest i cloaked.

Nice portraits!

I especially like how you used the background for the shimmer of light behind Celestia’s hair, the caldari theme of your caldari pilot Isaki and the way the blacks and whites of Saersi’s suit come back in his hair.

I also thought your other alt looks fun:

Haha! Thank you!
Not sure who is missing from the party. So many characters…
The one you posted i thought was funny. It’s a storage-worker android designated to Jita 4-4 to handle… Well assets. :robot: Beep Boop
