Decided to try something different this time and just have the characters face in shadow, overall I think it turned out pretty good…
Anyway, I call this one ‘The Hunter’…
And as usual the Apparel is color coordinated to match using stock Character Customization items and New Eden Store items…

How did you get your forum icon to update? Mine is from a couple of years back… Do you have to log out-log in to the forums to get it to do it?

The forum fetches your portrait when you log in.
I would also wait an hour or so after you’ve made a portrait.
In my experience it can take a while before the game has rendered the final smooth version of your portrait and has sent it to the database for use. I suspect they do the more expensive job of rendering and taking the portait in use in a batch every hour or so, to avoid having to do so repeatedly in a short time when someone keeps taking new portraits they’re not yet happy with. (I’ve never been that person.)
These are not mine. But wanted to share a few beautiful male portraits I’ve found flying around New Eden:
^This one looks really 3d. Either intentionally or by accident, but he’s placed his character in a way that it looks like his hair is casting a shadow on the wall behind him, when in reality it’s just a pattern on the wall. Sharp lighting works well here.
^ @Gerard_Amatin looks like he could be your character’s father, or a brother?

Nice portraits, I like that ‘shadow on the wall’ effect!
How does this happen:
Both of these characters have a discoloration across their faces. Rendering error or is it some sort of a tattoo or something? On the female it suits the character, but on the male it looks out of place and like a glitch rather than something intentional.

That’s a rare glitch, happens from time to time. I’ve seen it too on one of my characters and when it happens you can take a picture with it.
I had a similar glitch. I kept it as my portrait, until the game itself corrected it. It was some months as I remember.
I’ve attached a couple of photos as it was so complete a glitch, it was an ensemble not in the database. Oh bits and pieces of it were in the database, but the game stitched this one up all on it’s own.

I wanted to use an outfit I’ve never seen anyone else use, and I liked the idea of combining purple with EL wire, so I used the Semiotique Superluminal jacket. And I could quickly see why nobody else was using it, the black chest part really doesn’t look good, I had to zoom in so much you can’t even tell what Anna is wearing.
