EVE Vegas was pitiful and makes me feel this game has no future

I think the kid has a point. After “adapting” for 11 years now and watching the game drop from apx 50k avg and climbing, down to 30 and now 20k. I think all the change has been good for the game! But that’s just me.

Edit; I forgot to give him an award for just showing up.

I agree that no clear future plans are being made.

That’s because the resources are infinite. Most conflict is driven by finite resources. Not in Eve. So this is just going to go on forever and get even more boring.

All that HTFU goes live if they ever make resources finite. “But… that’ll kill the game!!”
As if infinite resources haven’t.

Wow, in a single sentence you showed us that you have no clue about highsec mechanics and completely overestimate your ability to judge your own competence of the matter.

Power is accumulated over time. You seem to be of this new breed that thinks it is entitled to get in on the same level without any effort from you. Well, good luck in EVE and good luck in RL. Cry more about how unfair the world is.

You’re an idiot.

I agree wholeheartedly, except that it won’t be killing the game.
It will most likely strengthen the “gene pool” after all the weaklings and afk players left.

Will admit have wondered how the proposal and possible implementation of resources being finite would look if it was ever seriously looked into, but generally I’d support it on principle just to shake up some of the status quo of some parts of the game.

There should be an icon down in the right side corner that looks like a pencil / pen, click that to edit your reply.

Yeah, it’s not the reply I wanted to edit it was the reference to Nicolai at the top.

Ahhh, you must have clicked the reply button to his post.

I think the only way to change / remove that would be to click the edit icon, then completely remove everything in the post which should then generate a ‘cancel’ or ‘delete’ button for you to click.

EDIT:
Just copy all the text before that and paste it into a regular reply to the thread.

To delete the post he can click the … icon then click the trash can then can post a generic reply to the thread instead of to that specific person. The deleted post will disappear after 24 hours.

Ohh that’s right, I forgot about the trash can hidden in the 3 dots.

There are no rules in real life except those that are imposed by groups so that they can get along better.

In games there are only the rules imposed by the games company and those that they themselves have to adhere to.

Although games are being looked at to see if they require additional rules by government bodies. Because they realise it may only be a game but what is said and players behaviour doesn’t have any effect on the character but does on the person behind the character. So at some point there will likely be additional rules imposed.

Does that mean that Amarr will be banned?

To me, the problem with eve is the patches or expansion.

They don’t feel exciting anymore like they did in my early years of playing this game.
Back then there was always something in the expansions/patches that I looked forward to but nowadays I am just either disappointed or frustrated when I read the patch notes.

It’s all skins and nerfs…simply boring and underwhelming to me.

Skins are supposed to make the nerfs easier to swallow.

I still remember the glory days (I started 2010); Fanfests were super exciting when we were shown Walking in Stations Demos, DUST 514 Demos, that we would Control Planetary Populations as part of Planetary Interaction, that we could play Valkyrie, DUST or EVE on same account!

erererere

And now we just get boring old space ships to add to the THOUSANDS already available. How did it get to this?!

Having so many failures must leave its mark.

They may have gotten tired of announcing exciting and interesting new things they had no ability to deliver.

Some companies, with the resources and cash flow that CCP has, would have buckled down and said “You know what? We need to shape up and start delivering on some of our promises. Let’s HTFU and learn to program games the way the people who worked for us 15 years ago could!”.

Instead, CCP opted for the much more comfortable, and much less difficult “Let’s wait for Hilmar to announce a new vision, and then we can all clap and say ‘Wonderful vision Hilmar, you’re the best!’ and go back to playing Overwatch on our workstations.”

Dont forget the sauna Hillmar mentioned at Vegas
