YOU couldn’t do it. Why tell others to? Again? (I fell asleep during that last explanation.)
Never mind.
The whole point of this post is that the purchased 1.5m SP is considered P2W when, even after using it, I still don’t feel like I’ve won anything.
Not everyone is going to think to use the 1.5m SP to train into flying Interceptors so they can avoid gate camps. I certainly didn’t - I used it to train into flying a T3 Destroyer with my Corp. Even then I still need to get the mastery certs done to remain competitive.
So what is your argument?
Eve was supposed to be a sandbox and the players built whatever they wanted. The problem is CCP wants to regularly redefine the sandbox. So not really a sandbox for the players.
Honestly, the 1.5M SP for €40 is just the end result of changes that started long, long ago with Skill injectors. The OP with this toon just doesn’t know any better…
Because $$$ => PLEX => isk => Skill Injectors
That €40 is just cheaper for very old toons where it isn’t cheaper to do this with Skill Injectors.
And let’s not even talk about buying chars that goes back much, much further…
As for running gatecamps with Interceptors, I’ve been doing that for longer with Covert Ops ships on toons before there were Skill Injectors. And I got there by paying CCP for a subscription for years.
This particular toon has been around since 2005. I’ve made a few long breaks, so mechanics and stats have change drastically. I’ve lost pretty much everything bigger then a cruiser that I had stashed, simply because I didn’t know how to fly those anymore. Buying a perfect fit ship for Burners resulted in a very dead ship, even though I had perfect skills from having trained them years before… I’m not doing T5 Abyssal sites because that would the loss of many an expensive ship while learning very little. I started doing T1 Abyssal sites in cheap Frigates, learning different ships (again) and occasionally dipping my toes into T2 Abyssal sites.
If the buying SP is your issue, then EVE went bellyside up a decade and a half ago. I don’t know what to think of the SP for $$$ directly, but it currently isn’t ruining my EVE experience. And imho EVE itself is absolutely not P2W due to actual player skill and experience.
There have always been rules in the sandbox defined by CCP, and those rules have been changing since the game launched.
If you don’t like the rules changes then complain to the CSM.
It’s way older than that.
People forget about character selling like it’s not just another way to buy SP. The difference is that Skill Injectors let you pick the name of your character in exchange for a large cost increase.
Sure there’s some added flexibility and other advantages, but if you wanted a perfect pilot of _________ you’ve always been able to buy it for ISK.
I feel queezy but am better now in my new environs.
it’s true
