I honestly don’t understand for whom this event actually is.
Veteran players with lots of ISK don’t need to run these, because of poor outcome. If I need a module I would go to the market for it.
Newbies with no ISK won’t run it, because they don’t have ships and ISK to gamble. When I told a fellow corp newbie of 13 mil per try, he laughed at my face.
Aplhas won’t run it because of reprocessing rates.
On top of all. It’s lootboxes for Petes sake.
If you really need to sink some ISK from the game, perhaps there is a better way. Raise repair taxes, add some minimum, lower insurance payouts, add more broker fees.
But gambling for loot in a lootbox? 13 / 25 mil? for a newbie?
Well, after trying few more sites, i can only get to one conclusion, this is ccp small scale test of future “luck” and gamble based revenue by their now parent company , who are quite (in)famous for it.
As one poster above said, wait till they implement forking out 100 plex or so to improve your “chances”.
And really, you can get a junked “reward” box? Someone needs reality check, or straight jacket, whatever is closer.
I don’t mind a bit of a grind. I generally enjoy the PvE events as there is some reward for your investment of time. But the current Guardian’s Gala event is ridiculous. For a single basic accelerator I have to find, clear and mine 12 full sites. I’ve spent 6 hours so far and have managed to get 11. It wouldn’t be so bad if there was any kind of decent loot, but the most exciting thing I’ve gotten so far is a literal piece of garbage.
It seems like a fun event if you’re a gambler with 100’s of million of isk to burn or like fireworks though.
The event was really disappointing, and the rare minerals + mysterious lottery odds made me really not interested in completing this event. I have been doing activities for about 8 hours. I haven’t got the accelerator I want now, even if it’s a +6.
event sucks, confirmed. 3 loot boxes each worth less than the isk required to acquire them not including the mineral costs or ticket. waste of time, and massive fail. if this gambling crap keeps creeping into the game then adios new eve casino.
The pattern with these events is astounding. New Event > Bugs all over the place > Devs respond in the first hour, then nothing for the next 23 > Fix 75% of them at first DT > Further 20% after 2nd or 3rd DT > Most players have given up already.
How is it so impossible to get it right from the start? You would think CCP would have the routine down by now.
