CCP makes a site. A site drops (in average) one ticket. Plus, with some (known to CCP) probability a site drops a BPC which requires Chromo…sh*t also. Even the pupil of the elemenary school will be able to calculate how much ore have to contain the average event site.
Next. CCP makes the loot table for the event lootbox. Trust me, it’s not hard to compute the average price for this items and get the redeem cost for the lootbox. And not forget to subtract from this figure cost of the required mineral.
And not to forget that eve market is player-driven and players will undercut the prices of presumably most expensive items, reducing the average value of lootbox in the process.
Going around 6 systems in Null sec to have 1 site spawn in last 3 hrs !! with the crap rewards and the fact you have to fork out more isk than most of the items are worth just to get a box.
You can buy the Chromo on the market. But to get the lootbox in the casino you have to pay an extra 13M or 25M(VIP) per raffle. Most of the boxes just contain crap, and expensive stuff will lose value the more people gamble, so you likely lose money doing the event.
Sure. This is EVE – anything can be bought in Jita. But somebody else should mine it for you. At the moment the market chews the last pieces of minerals mined in the previous event.
The event is clearly a scam from the Angel Cartel pirates. 1 day after introduction and I see people mostly ignoring it.
This should be fixed at least to be playable:
ISK payment in the paradise club. There shall be no payment at all. You should put inside items which you aquire during the event and then you get something in return.
Reprocessing ratio of the ore is too low. All ore from 1 site is not enough to access the paradise club even once. You must do 2 sites. Not to mention if you want to manufacture attribute boosters. Even 10 sites mined will not be enough for even 1 basic attribute booster. This is bad.
Exchanges in the paradise club are nothing but gambling. This shall not be promoted.
I played 5 times in the club and got only this worthless crap in return: Agency level 1-2 boosters, 3rd Tier Overseer’s Personal Effects, etc.
I’m ignoring it for the time being. Lost a ship to the incredibly Op BS, thank you for the reimbursement, I wasn’t sure if it was me at first. Ran another which was fine, manageable, but a nice challenge. I think it would be better if there was different tickets, which dropped with increasing rarity from rats and bosses. Like ordinary, bronze, silver gold, maybe platinum. Then you could decide how many you wanted to gamble and what type. Either remove the chromo requirement or put some more asteroids in there. I don’t like mining but it was reasonably fun on the last few couple of events.
Just in case somebody compares this with regular RNG loot drops … it’s a perceptual difference if you actually have to pay for the raffle ticket, which can turn into a loss compared to just an unlucky drop (implying wasted time).
This makes the event crossing the border towards an online casino simulation.
Hard to give feedback on an event if there are no sites to run. I’m ok with a low(ish) reward on the event sites; not reasonable to expect everything to have an income equal to high-end nullsec ratting/mining. But if finding sites is a chore and that is only the start as you need to get ore etc, then the event does not add any entertainment value.
“The game contains elements that encourage or teach gambling. These simulations of gambling refer to games of chance that are normally carried out in casinos or gambling halls. Games with this sort of content are PEGI 12, PEGI 16 or PEGI 18.”
Unfortunately you have to mine it. At least that’s what I can see based on the previous events. The tracker checks the ore type and the mined amount, when the equipped miner finishes the cycle.
