Wow… that’s pretty bad. That should’ve been picked up very early in QA. I don’t think CCP does quality assurance anymore. Anything goes!
Having participated in the event for the past four days, it would make a lot of sense if the people setting the tasks and designing the event had never actually played the game and only experienced it on a test server.
It’s possible, if any other scenario not working, but it spoils the experience. I found the “PP: none + Shader quality: low” mode laggy with low performance for me. BTW low shader quality negatively affects UI. Shader Quality: High requires significant resources and a drop in fps is well noticeable. Also it adds some dust impurities into space, from which the sun glares reflects and creating shadows over them. In many cases it looks worse.

I consider the tasks as test balloons, they just threw in everything what they think is cool, and want to test our reaction.
The two most annoying bugs left for me:
- none-tradeable BPCs (is this intentional to test personalized items?)
- asteroids not respawning (huffing the gas is for masochists only)
The best part of this event are the 800 people in the event channel who can get in and ask questions without feeling like they are going to get wardecked for saying anything.
hitting Ctrl-D on Monday night turned the tactical overlay on for me, but it couldn’t be switched back off. Fleetmate confirmed on his toon.
no camera mode switching was possible, but technically tactical overlay was usable. just with keyboard shortcut method for turning it on only, apparently.
AKA us WHers with 3 max skilled t2-huffer-fit prospects. Challenge accepted. ;D
Never. My post processing is set to low across all 3 clients for various reasons, especially to turn off incursion constellation sepia-toned mode.
Your screenshots were very informative, however, interesting how the horizon effect was blurred and washed out by PP being off. Wonder if CCP art team even tested with PP off before event release.
took me an hour to do 20+40 I think hacks.
BO of skins+drugs is around 170M.
so 3 missions clogged up with harvesting stuff for a non mining character GREAT!!, destroy mordus ships in hacking frig, okay suppose i could do if i trained for them, kill mordus ships using medium weapons (yet medium drones dont count as weapons), must go refit i guess, but the last mission open to me, hack nodes in order to spawn a transporter and kill it, how many frigging nodes to hack before this mysterious transport appears (i must have hacked well over 100 already without seeing one).
I feel ccp have really let themselves down with the lack of ability to decline missions, say once every 12 hrs or so, or have them reset at dt. Loved previous events, yet have the over whelming sense of disappointment with this, and yes, i know i dont have to run them, but whats the point in having events if nobody takes part?
Same feeling here by now. I tried to really participate the best I can. Refitting, Mining, training skills I planed for much later (or not at all like Gas Harvesting - 24mio down the drain).
Today I finally decided to give up on this event. Back to routine. For me this event did only cost me ISK, didn’t gain me some. My gain: 2 Skins… but can’t reach the one I aimed for. A bit disapointing.
I love the idea of the scenery…its something different. However, there needs to be a cleaner and less blinding transition between gate and site. The event has the appeal of multiple things to do but sadly the slow respawn rates and rarity of sites makes this event unpalatable.
I would suggest in the future to not focus so much on the grand scale of the event. A group of 3-5 players is fine but these sites are seeing sizes of multi-dozens of people. It creates a mess as these individuals aren’t working together but rather on their own agenda. I think it would be better to more closely emulate previous agency events by having a site spawning in each solar system instead of a rally point in a constellation.
Also, the event has seriously lacked an intuitive design. I mean don’t get me wrong, having played 10 years I am used to having to seek out information on how to do something but in recent years the direction of the game has been in presenting information within the activity rather than force the player to look outside the game…I am fine with either, but don’t confuse your player base by radically changing it during an event. Sites are not mapped on the Agency tool thus forcing you to have to fly randomly through space until you find one. Gate objectives are not very clear on their intentions. For example the gate objectives should read “Look at X Gate” Instead of “Examine X Gate” to the player examine means to show info, look at means to right click and look at. Given the points given and the scale in which you earn them, the event really isn’t worth it and ultimately is more a headache than it is worth.

Just a heads up, the transports spawn in the West gate with the miners!
Transport spawn in west pocket is triggered by mining ore. If there is no ore - there will be no transports.

Really? OK so gank a miner in the event site? Dunno. Not doing this one.

Back of the envelope calculations is over 34 days of training just to assemble a Rorqual. For the Orca it is a mere 14 days. Who knows what else I have to train for modules and so on?
First I was giggling. Eventually I was LOL in real life on and off for around an hour. I find this to be pretty funny. It appeals to my sense of humor. Plus I am easily amused.

Which is probably a bug. I have been using a Stratios so far to hack and I was sort of hoping this was a feature not a bug. But it had not updated in a while. I lost track of how many cans I hacked but I sold around 200mill of boosters at Jita last night. I assembled one of the two extra Asteros I have lying around and simulated a fit. because this is probably going to be the only one of two viable quests left.

I have a couple of quests to huff some gas. I am not doing this. I hate mining. I would rather sever an appendage, roast and eat it with fava beans and a frivolous Napa Valley vintage than go mining, but I did it anyway.
Now I have to huff gas too? Never mind I keep hearing about some wall of death that renders your Venture to atoms in mid warp.
No. Hell no. ■■■■ you NO. Life is too short to huff gas. ■■■■ you (and your little dog too for that matter)
