Used to enjoy events a lot for fun and great rewards. I was so happy with the previous one that 3 on four accounts went to alpha state…
I tried the north gate on this one as I used to do t3/ t4 abyss and lv4 missions, the dificulty was insane, only 2 of us running the site rewards should have be great but no.,… waited 40 minutes for Bs to respawn in vain. I can make 3 times more isk running a single t3 abyss.
CCP the only fix I would suggest is that you rename that event as " PERMACRAP"
It seems some people start to give advice on the fitting, flying strategy basics and player abilities, quoting cliches, while missing the important part, that the event is not inclusive for the vast majority of the playerbase, that is made of bad players. I am pretty sure that the hundreds of players that cannot partake in something advertised as awesome, are more important to CCP than your notion of “delicious tears”.
That being said, i’m sure that the event will receive changes and fixes, but it would have been a lot better to release it good from start. However the worst part of it 1 beacon/constellation, I don’t think will change.
This kind of approach only makes players to lose interest in the event from the test server, as I’ve seen with my friends.
of course it’s darn is.
But I can have my delicious gila tears, and event getting good after it’s fixed. It’s a win-win for me, or at least win if nothing gets fixed.
I’d rather be hacking those cans than writing here that’s for sure, but CCP made sure that doesn’t happen
Only 1 event site per constellation for the winter event, which is usually the busiest (winter is most active time in EVE)? Who thought this is a good idea? I think ill just ignore this event. I have better things to do than competing against 20 vets in blinged out T3Cs and marauders for some accelerators.
People still care about events? I didn’t even bother undocking. Bugged and grindy content that will ve patched in few days. CCP overthink them for a long time now.
We realize that its not only the hacking cans that are not spawning, but also the gas and ore in the west room. We are working tirelessly on fixes to be deployed tomorrow!
Couple more things:
Sites are definitely distributed to wormholes
Reprocessing figures are also getting tweaked for tomorrow
The site is less bright on higher graphics settings
I love this event even with all those bugs. Don’t let the minority screaming “this is ■■■■” make it look like this is the case for every body
Some hiccough, and yes this kind of bugs should not be present on the release, but the atmosphere is great, the site is harsh, the activities are numerous and it brings cooperative play as well as competitive.
the idea is good. and thats about it. I really like the idea though, but the implementation is one of the worst Ive ever seen among previous eve online event sites.
Please dont get me wrong: the design and the idea behind the sites really is great, but requires polishing.
Cons:
visually it looks like an alpha-state-version, e.g. the background-lighting change during warp-process into the site, when the screen just gets flashed white instead of melting different backgrounds into each other. Just looks visually cheap (this was already an “issue” being present at the previous event)
overall too-bright-lighting within the site makes it difficult to see interface-information/letters in space (ship names, infos etc), people have quite different interface compilations and the bright background can easily overlap displayed information
while the tactical overlay is being disabled within the combat area (north gate access) makes me wonder if the creators of the event sites ever played combat in Eve Online…?!
same for camera being bugged/limited in its ‘allowed angles’ within the combat area (north gate) makes it…difficult/annoying to fight. (is that meant to be a cool effect? because its kinda not.)
Loot and progress rewards being unworthy the effort (dropped skins are the same of a 3 year old event; boosters ingredients(ores) are a pain to grind for; and some limited modules which seem to be just average. and therefore not really feel like a reward… its okay, but it doesnt feel its worth the time I need to put in)
[18:57:08] Sir Henry M0rgan > theres not even a point in trying to do these anymore. every one I’ve been to has had 5+ people in them just waiting for the BS
If 95% of people can’t even run a site, is it considered a success?
