I’m baffled. What the heck should corp and alliance logos have to do with some NPC mission thingy ? This is just another attempt to wedge more unwanted PvE into the game.
not PvE, industrey
Bought - and I wish there was a preview option
People do missions for bp’s, implants, ammo, ships, modules, isk, loyalty points etc. so why not holograms as well? Are you complaining that CCP are creating ways to get you to play the game?
They’re not really missions, but turn-in quests. Due to a lack of destruction (or too much production, depends how you look at things), they needed to find a way to get minerals taken out of the economy.
This is probably a trial run for more intensive solutions in the future, like full-blown NPC market buy orders for items.
bro when pirates whant 50 mining barges
I mean, corps that own half the galaxy and have Titans and huge mining fleets, etc, etc…are utterly incapable of simply painting a logo on the side of their ships aren’t they.
Except they aren’t really taken out of the economy. They will be sold for cash and returned to the game where they can be fitted, used, killed or sold on. I was surprised that modules aren’t being requested too, seeing as the sold ships will probably be fitted. Whether it is good for the economy or not, we will have to wait and see.
If it helps newer players get over the hurdle of fitting out a ship, that is probably a good thing.
While it’s hypothetically feasible for CCP to buy up assets in order to be able to “cleanly” sell them for cash (i.e. nothing is created out of thin air), the problem with this strategy is that most people aren’t going to see a connection between the item being taken out of the economy and then injected back in later via the cash shop. To them, CCP is still going to be “generating items out of nothing” even if that’s not really true, and it’s going to drive a lot of negative PR for them. Plus, the effect of curbing mineral inflation is going to be canceled out.
Agreed that communication is going to be difficult on this. Most players probably won’t even think any further than the actual transaction. Turn in a ship and get a reward. But for those that do, just make the information and reasons for introducing Evermarks readily available. You will never counter all of the disinformation.
It will be interesting to see what effect it has on the mineral prices long term. Prices of the requested ships have risen a lot. Good money to be made out there at times like these.
Is so funny. Just remove the post that’s being replied to…If you’re going to silence the community…
I’m not interacting at all with this system
the size of this topic is bringing me some FOMO thought
I STILL find it beyond belief that CCP ask it’s players to “Click” “Deny” “Click” “Deny”…
UNTIL they find a ship they have a BPO/C for or INDEED, have a Built or Bought ship…
HOW can it be so hard to just let players choose from a menu of ships to turn in ???
The ONLY GOOD thing to come out of this “Current Click Fest” is that the Lead Designer (Imagined) allows us to position the mouse pointer so we can click/deny multiple times without moving the mouse…
Maybe He/She got fedup of the RNG thing…
Edit
Lead Designer is a Brick Layer…
Testing is a carpet fitter
and Marketing is a painter…
Cause that’s how it feels to me…
I’m pretty sure the choices are decreasing. I couldn’t get a Merlin offer today.
Clearly they want you to get the practice in for setting up PI, because everything that requires hundreds of clicks is fun!
/s
If
Then doesnt that mean there’s something unenjoyable about the game to begin with?
There just isnt enough difference in those missions. They could start asking for different amount of those ships, or even better, for modules, or even better, some things you can find in sites that are not worth much today, like those drone alloys, or tourists… Or even PI products! Or get automatically in mission some products that are currently too underpriced on market and ask for those!
What? That is not at all what I said. A game can be good fun and still the dev’s can create more reasons for you to play.
I guess its all down to what a person means by “Get you to”
To me that sounds like they need to encourage, cajole, bribe or otherwise incentivise a person to play.
Sorry if that wasnt your intended meaning.
Im not sure I can think of a phrase that means what you are meaning, so I see the issue.
