And garbage like that is why I choose to not patronize places like Disneyworld. But there are plenty of dumb cows out there to milk so Disney rakes in the cash.

I mean, I’d have liked to see it on the Sega Genesis and the Atari Jaguar, too, sure… :smirk:

SHHHH!

Yes, there are plenty of people who like having fun and are willing to pay not to stand in line.

That is even worse

Read, worthless. It’s skills from thin air that will disappear after week. So value of RL money you put into it is zero. Zero because it don’t give you any currency, assets or SP.

Best idea to upset people and make them never look at EVE.

With asterisk that you also need to buy plex to afford the ship?

With over 1.3 million distinct human beings (not counting alts!) trying EVE Online for the first time in 2020, helping monetizing new players find their footing in New Eden remains one of the most important projects for the game.

Translated the marketing speech

It’s not worthless. It gives you the chance to do something you otherwise couldn’t do, to try it out. That has value for a new player.

Or someone gives it to you. There are plenty of ways to get the ships, or you just use the ones you’ve got but you’re better skilled and able to do more.

Yup pay for a entry to a park designed to have long grueling lines. Then wait! You can pay yet again to not wait as long. ROFLMAO give me a break.

How about … instead of “introductory tastes” and pretty parade square fleet formations … how about REAL problems get fixed ?

Like the EXPLOIT of Triglavian NPC fleets randomly attacking, and screwing pilots who otherwise have chosen not to take part in any of the Triglavian “conflict” (read: no Trig or Edencom standings) ? Trig-aligned players are having an orgy of looting with zero consequences other than a meaningless “Suspect” timer – because the Trigs shoot anyone trying to get close enough to shoot the “Suspects”, thus protecting the Trig-aligned looters.

Like the EXPLOIT of Keepstars / citadels and their market modules operating in High Sec … which were meant to build the economy in NULL – spot the irony – and now provide a huge trading advantage to the owners in High Sec … how is that not an exploit ?

Like all the ganking activity in High Sec which is promoted by 90% loot drops ?

I mean it’s all glam when a ganker fleet warps in in perfect formation ( spot the irony – no need for those sexy formation fleets – gankers already do it with broadcasts ! !! ) but really ? CCP has to actively incentivize ganking with 90% loot drops during some special events ?

You want to promote warfare and competition between aggressors, but all you’re getting is collateral damage, mostly to PVE players, and incentivizing exploits.

Stay safe.

You can do same thing with injectors. While retaining money you spent as progression for your character. This just takes money from dumb newbies and gives nothing in exchange. Well, it asks for more money so technically it’s not nothing…

P2W incoming? Sad

Time to burn something. I suggest Jita.

Also, seven years ago - to the day - the Killing It Forward queue was born: Feyds Blog: Killing It Forward

Yes, you can. And the issue there is still the same - if you buy an injector and skill into something to try it and realize that you don’t like it, it feels as bad (or worse) than wasting time to train something you end up not liking.

This gives folks a way to try something without massive investment of time or money. That’s the entire point of them.

None of this stuff is designed for existing players, so I don’t know why folks are getting so bent out of shape about it. You will never buy these, even on your alts, because you know what you want to do with each new character you make and you’ve already done it a dozen times.

Yeah, but again, Brisc: the people who have that support network already… they probably don’t need this.

Eh, I’ve already laid out why I think this will cause issues for newbies. I don’t expect the majority of newbies to fall into that trap, but we need as many of them as we can get, and bad word of mouth hurts.

I agree. This comes off as trying to solve an issue with new player retention, but it was hijacked by their financial team and turned into another service to charge players for…well I tell you, I sure as hell am not paying money for temporary skills. That is so silly.

No new player that wishes to pay into the game will pay into achieving what will only be temporary. Unless I am gravely mistaken…it seems we are to be taken for fools with this service you are offering.

EVE gets compared to Disneyworld by a prominent member of the CSM.

I was there.

It’s hardly the first time a ruthless engine of viscous, spiteful rage over broken promises and shattered dreams has been compared to EVE Online…

This new change will not affect me in the slightest, I will not be using them, as an omega with nearly 170mill sp it’s a nonstarter. Maybe CCP could increase the sp from skill injectors for the high sp toons, let’s say from 50,000 to 75,000 give a dog bone or carrot as they say. o7 :innocent:

I really don’t get how dump someone must be to think that if someone finds wasting time painful, he will find wasting real money less painful.

Because newbies don’t understand the game and won’t understand that it’s rip off. We, people that understand the game are trying to protect them from such idiocy

If CCP really want to give people opportunity to try things out. Why don’t just give option to buy needed skills for barge or whatever? Same thing but money is not wasted. Your money stays in SP. It’s pathetic rip off no matter how you look at it

Yes , in a Disneyworld where you would probably soon have the option to also buy and try gold ammo, pvp invulnerability timer, unique ships, and so on . I can see this as a next step after what they announced today .

What we have recently from CCP is a monetization campaign and now I want you to put this into COVID and scarcity update context. As I already mentioned , if you have followed the entire discussion, I can understand that in the end they are running a business , but they are beginning to step out the line here.

There are a bunch of vets here that have explained and provided enough arguments to you of why this is a bad move , what I suggest is that you should think more in depth about the negative implications of such changes from CCP.

Stop spinning and contradicting yourself . You leave me the impression that you actually have no clue and can’t comprehend the implications and impact on this matter.
