Sorry, I’m confused - what do you mean by “forgot to get a new clone got shot up and lost years of skill points” ? I though that getting killed always meant being reborn in your medical clone with all your skills intact (except neural implants and a few tech 3 skills). Is this not the case ? Do you have to create a new medical clone after being reborn and, if so, how do you go about doing it ?

Id love to see the faces on suicide gankers, nullbears etc when they lose all their SP on blowing up, if that was ever “de-dumbed down”.

Just about every patch/change brings more mechanics, changes to previous ones, to the system.
If anything, the learning curve is steeper now than ever before.
So much didn’t exist back then, that exists now.

Economics and other financial sciences might be hard for some people to grasp, but they’re not considered hard sciences. Hard sciences are generally the natural sciences, while the social sciences are considered soft sciences.
The key is in the amount of objectivity found in pursuit of facts. In the hard sciences you can generally create and monitor true experiments, whereas there is less ability to do so in the social sciences due to ethics and subjectivity.
Ethics is important because while it might be an interesting to statistically see how many newborns might be successfully raised by wolves - no one in their right mind would be able to actually run the experiment needed. So instead social science has to rely on other methods of study such as quasi experiments or natural experiments (things that happen by chance, but researchers will take every effort to study - like a market crash).
Subjectivity is the other difference between the two categories. While an atom or a cell will generally operate in a manner that is observable and measurable, humans actions generally don’t. Just look at what people use for ‘evidence’ here in the forums. Humans lie to save face, often confuse opinions for facts, and have fallible memories.
In one study in Arizona, researchers asked neighborhood residents individually how much they drank on a weekly basis. The answers were recorded, then a few months later, they received permission from the local government to go through the trash cans on the curb (which made the trash now property of the city).
The findings did not match up to what people said, and they later followed up with the residents, again individually. The responses were mostly given to save face, a few were “it was just a guess”, and a few lied because they didn’t drink and didn’t want to seem ‘weird’.
This was with trash and involved some legal finesse to get this accomplished. Try doing something like this with politics or economics. Researchers are almost always stuck with asking those being studied, because some actions cannot be observed.
