Fitted in mid slot, adds a ton of mass no pun intended. When activated nothing happens for a couple seconds but then the screen flashes and you are aligned. Useful on for example Bowhead travel fits. Lets discuss or not
Despite the visible ship model, as far as EVE’s engine is concerned, your ship has no facing. There is no front or back or sides. Your ship is a point in space. A sphere. You aren’t aligned unless you are moving. This is why you see Orcas and other large ships warping sideways sometimes.
This is exactly what an afterburner or microwarp drive does.
Why do you need a new module for it?
Then it will give a big reduction to inertia modifier for a few seconds Still fitted in mid slot and uses cap while active. Its like a really powerful bow thruster.
If they can get this ready by Fanfest i think people will go crazy in a good way when its revealed
Are you serious?
Again, this is what a MWD or AB already does: a temporary addition of mass and thrust, and once it’s done cycling your ship can instantly enter warp, even if the ship would take a minute to warp unaided.
Just look at his posting history.
Your suggestion and reactions are so characteristic of your posting history on these forums.
Instead of asking questions you assume to know everything already, and use this lack of knowledge to come up with the strangest suggestions.
Are you even aware players already use afterburners and microwarp drives to get their ship into warp sooner?
How much faster?
The length of one MWD or AB cycle, so 10 or 7.5 seconds.
This is how nano titans warp sideways.
Nano titan?
Have a look at this video:
Notice the nanofiber on the Ragnarok (hence ‘nano titan’) and the use of a single cycle of an undersized MWD to get their ship into warp after the kill.
It gets into warp fast enough compared to the visual turning animation of the ship that the ship even appears to warp sideways.
This MWD or AB trick can be used on any ship with an align time longer than 7.5 or 10 seconds to get into warp faster, exactly like this ‘new’ module you proposed.
I’ve been getting my deep space transport and barges into warp that way for ages.
Im not sure about that video. Seems like a glitch and the comments are mentioning it being webbed too?
But how much faster does your deep space transport align with mwd?
If you put a MWD on a bowhead it will align in 7 seconds? or however long the MWD cycle is?
A glitch?
It’s how EVE works: propmod gives you a speed boost and mass increase, once it decycles you lose the mass, keep the current speed and your max speed drops to the regular value which for most ships is enough to get the ship to above the warp requirement speed of 75% max speed.
Depending on how much of a speed boost your ship got and how agile it is, this can get you into warp instantly after the cycle ends.
For more clarity look at the Ragnarok at the 0:45 moment where it one-shots the Vargur. No webs or anything is applied to it, as you could see those effects above the capacitor where there’s nothing.
At 0:53 they overheat the MWD and give it one cycle while aligning to one of their safe bookmarks.
At 1:03 the MWD ends and the Ragnarok gets into warp, sideways.
That’s a 10 second align time for a titan, all because they use an undersized 500MN MWD.
Base align speed is 18s for an Occator. MWD could turn it into 10s.
Correct. That’s why people like putting a MWD on their Bowhead or Avalanche.
In order for this module to be attractive it would have to get the align time below 10 seconds then but not lower than 2 because that might be OP even tho tacklers exist that can tackle that
Faster than 7.5 seconds actually. ABs are great.
That would be nice
I feel like you don’t fully understabd align mechanics?
