4BOs jesus I only had 1 BO pilot freind with my sin and panther jump cloning around the universe to keep up with me
TBH, I kinda liked the death/jump clones, planning out the route, prepositioning ships and such.
To prevent FNA having a big advantage all it would need is for the last leg to Luminaire to have another waypoint ~3-4 jumps before in the opposite direction.
If i have the chance to i’d love to sit down with Convict for the next grand prix event next year (if there is) and hash out ways to make it so all characters have the exact same potential resources to exploit
(I also want to make it only a single timed route and make it brutal >:D)
I liked the route planning aspect of the event, too. It was not just mindless run run and who has the best implants and least latency, it actually took some thinking and eg one of my North run tricks I only realized towards the very end (LOTS of dying on that one, lol).
Also, the JC timer limitation meant you only had so many “full out” tries, so that limited the advantage people who do not have lives have to retry it ten times more than people with jobs & families (Even if it also meant I will not get three full out tries on the leaderboards due to repeatedly effing up my South runs
)
If the event organizers want to limit trickstery, tbh I like deathclones and JCs better than I do bridges in the general accessibility / limiting pay-to-win sense. Anyone can self-destruct, black ops and JFs cost isk (way more isk than a set of Leopards, too).
Also I am pretty sure by now also the lowest placements in top-10 have some trick included. Not all of the tricks but some. On the other hand, I can also tell you there are times on the boards that did not require asc implants.
My times have 0 help/cynos, just death clones/jump clones, and I used drifter holes. if I had someone kill me on the southern route that would have saved 2 minutes, and I guess I just missed the board on the northern route. Not sure if my time will make it on the eastern, but it was close. ~16 minutes.
How can there be 13 minutes difference in nr 1 and 10 spot on the northern route? Did he use cynos or what?
I did the race in a 12 AU speed interceptor 2s align. What is faster than this? I didn’t fail a single warp or stop at a landmark for more than 1 second and I’m not even close to that.
So how is this possible to do in 18 minutes?
I guess it is like everything else in Eve, the more accounts you own, the more you win.
Ill post the video after the event has finished, but my ships are way faster than 12/au/s, normally 29.8 au/s and up to 34au/s (only on the south route tho that that)
I counted clonejumping as a trick, yea.
My South time does not have a JC. It does have a bridge and a JF, tho.
I mostly ran in a Leopard with a 8 or 10% speed implant, no ascendancies.
I knew someone was gonna use the JF skip somewhere lol, that extra 2 lightyears range is amazing
I originally ended up using a JF because my other bridge could not get online and I needed to jump but it turned out pretty neat. Too bad I botched the JC which cost me the South route really (because I wanted to use my last one for East which I had not tried with all the tricks before today).
pls no dont kick me off my clean sweep lol, I’m gonna use it to demand @CCP_Convict lets me join the quafe corp ingame
You’re safe from me.
You better improve your eastern time in that case. And do it quick
At least I can say I did the race LEGIT gate to gate without cheating.
Hope for a better designed race next year.
legit the only the way to cheat would to do the infinite warp boosters and infinite death clones m8
Death cloning, jump cloning, cynoing is not really a race is it?
can’t cus of the clone jump timer unfortunately, what time did you get?
(unless I set up a new character for the 200iq play )
According to my rec 12:56.
Not that it should matter for the final result though
Nice, i noticed after I posted my east time that my jump route optimisations were just crap and I can do loads of ship optimisations, but had to focus on getting all runs done before the event ended)
A race is a competition to cover a set course in the fastest time within a rule framework, the ruleset was “anything goes”
