We never said anything about subscribing. You were Alpha, that’s to test the game, and for you, the game is not worth investing - that’s exactly what tests are for, and your reaction was reasonable.
What we keep saying is that EVE is not fun for everybody, and it doesn’t want to be either. So every suggestion to make the game easier will nearly always be countered by “HTFU!”, so it remains to be fun for those who already enjoy.
You didn’t mention that before. That’s a plus for you.
I think speed tank is not part of the New Player Experience yet, so of course it is better to keep the Newbros more or less away from the harsher parts of New Eden.
But on the other hand, I like the idea of podding Newbros in the NPE to show them what happens when your pod is in peril - but at least the mission should be completed this way. Years ago, being podded was part of the very first tutorial, but I had no Idea what is happening, I just did what Aura told me, and then I awoke at my home station and the Tutorial continued.
I have notifications turned on, that’s why
I’m still confounded that just because I thought something negative about a beginner tutorial mission, so many act like that means I’m apparently too wimpy for the real game. Even after I explain a million times.
I think that in the Adv Military mission, you do get to die, and end up in your pod. It’s part of the mission, and I assume it’s there to teach us newbs about the harsh realities of death in the game.
All the more reason getting 1 shot by Invasion mobs was unnecessary
This is the sentence that prompted people to get snarky with you. You can say whatever you want to dress it up, but the fact is that you quit after your first ship loss.
But not BECAUSE of the loss. Again, all the ships I had were just given to me by the game, so not really a loss imho.
I get it though, I’ve played PvP games my whole life and know where you all are coming from.
But I sent someone the ISK in game because I hate waste
And I think this is a nice and honorable way to do it.
What you can do, remake a character with a different race/bloodline, it will then start at a different starter system and that way you can get around the whole Trig invasion system.
OR
EVE has 12 sets of career agents (all identical), just pick one of the 11 other ones to complete your tutorial (and get even more free goodies)
I have the feeling the OP is not interested in solution proposals.
Well, the solution OP aimed for is to fix the bug, which is already done afaik.
But I’m with you, we won’t get him to to start over and give EVE another chance.
Hey Slipt Laserbait,
Thanks a lot for speaking up on this subject. Triglavian Invasion has caused a lot of turmoil for everyone in New Eden for over a year now. We know that some Agents have not completely adapted to the situation and kept sending rookies to their death into the systems taken over by the Collective.
This is not the best early experience for Capsuleers and we have a fix in place that will help with this problem that is planned to go live on Tranquility relatively soon!
Soon™
But good to see that CCP is aware and actively trying to fix this for the new players.
I would like to have this fixed for all players. EC and Trigs camping gates in lowsec stop people from roaming for PvP.
I was not watching the notifications for this for the last 2 days, but I was thinking about it. I was kinda impressed with the way most people here defended the game, even while agreeing that my complaint was kinda valid. It had me wondering if the community itself just might be worth giving it another shot. I’ve been playing ESO for free on a friends old account, and it seems pretty barren of players talking to each other, the rookie channel here is way more active by itself.
I’m still wary, but I think maybe another fresh start at Alpha on a different character might be reasonable. I still don’t think I’ll go Omega until I feel more comfortable.
Actually, I was very interested, which is why I had notifications on…
A solution happened, and I was very happy that I (and I assume many others) were able to bring this up and have it addressed.
