It depends on the CSM you’re talking to. I’ve been punished for a considerably more benign interaction with someone else. It was my only ever punishment, in fact. Mike just happens to not be untouchable like some others.

I dont hold that as ISD favouritism.
I hold everything Ive seen in the last month (specifically) as ISD incompetence.
When they cant or wont stick to their own rules, its just a matter of time before the forums are removed and replaced with a reddit link because eventually its just going to be Orca and the like windmill-penising and CCP could probably do without that being a public face of Eve.
Tbh if I was less lazy Id publicise it myself.

I think that they’re keeping us here because they want to keep us away from other platforms, which have much more public exposure. Best to keep all the crazy on the internal forums that are only visited by like 300 unique individuals every month, instead of where it could do some actual damage to the game’s public image.

Throwing us out of here and burning it down would just mean any of us who continue would get diluted and lost in the crowd, so a net win for CCP in that regard.
Still, ergonomic solutions to problems have never been the forte of anyone around here, so keeping a lawless backwater where fking vegetables can screech at each other is the least effort route.
Its not even that long ago that all this would have been nippled in the bud for “Discussing Moderation”.
I had toyed with making a thread entitled “Disgusting Moderation”, but only suckers and masochists actually start threads.

Not sure what you’re associating with but sounds hilarious either way. 
I mostly just find it funny, and terrible, that there are people who have such shitty lives and low standards they feel it’s ok to behave like an idiot.
It’s like watching football hooligans: society would be better off without them but at the same time Its funny to see people with single digit IQ try and operate in the normal world.
That and the tears: you just KNOW this clown is a grind bear who feels wronged by CCP, while there is a CSM member who disagreed with him.

Yup, Mike did receive a live example in his thread and he is broccoli enough to look past the greenery expletives and capture its data and feedback about the health of the game and the mindset of players leaving.

I think it’s hilarious. Seeing a bunch of corpulent bourgies cry and complain about not having enough while nearly 90% of the player base and CCP both despise them for ruining the entire ecosystem is extremely satisfying. Like rich people trying to have their seven-course dinner while the pitchfork mob is already burning down the neighbor’s mansion, they have no idea what’s coming and were never prepared for anything of the sort because their entire existence was built around assumptions rooted in greed and entitlement, and I’m absolutely giddy with joy.

If you, as a CSM, really have to ask “why” people voice thier opinion on a game most of these people invested 1000s over hours in and obviously care about and obviously hope it changes it’s direction to maybe eventually not “have to leave” in the end…
I got a counter question: Why do you apply for a role of “representing the playerbase” if your ability to think of someone elses perspective is nonexistent?

You should really consider a career in IRL politics. Surface level charismatic people without any substance are heavily rewarded in that area.

I don’t know if you haven’t been around very long, but about 90% of the CSM is elected through organized null-bloc voting, and this has been the case for at the last dozen election cycles or so.

Haven’t really looked into CSM so far, but seeing the CSM in the title combined with the contents just absolutely baffled me.
Honestly nothing here is “surprising”, people trolling to be “savage” and get internet gangster points or whatever juice they think they accumulate with this.
Btw, not even agreeing with making “I’m leaving”-posts, imo that part is an obvious lie most of the time. Just the conduct of Mike is… unmatching of his role, showing that CSM is worth nothing.
I would imagine that he’s as frustrated as many other players, but CSM members, especially on an individual level, don’t have any power. Mike is not the enemy; the system is the enemy. And the system was constructed to deflect and distract from issues with the game, as opposed to helping solve them. Or at the very least, it was changed to act this way a few years after inception. I think the initial goals, desired by people who haven’t worked for CCP in a long time by this point, were likely noble.
