For The old Guys Out there, I mean toons over 10 years old

CCP did some really silly ■■■■. Those new bros were actually who got nerfed in all this. @Krig_Povelli is still suspect baiting his ass off… except now he has specialized his fleet in purely solo play and subsequently has no use in training or recruiting new players. He’d be training his competition.

Nerfing logi out of HS didn’t change Krigs success rate. Carebears think “well if you just nerf this one thing we can fight back” without realizing just HOW specialized these players are. They know if they can kill you or not, and if they can’t they simply move on to another target they can kill. You’re still not killing them, the established baiters are still successful.

The REAL problem is there is no longer a path for the newbro to get to where Krig is. Even if they RMT (a roughly 40-50bil PvP setup) they’d have to get Krig himself to train them because he’s using mechanics/fits/tricks that you cant just search for on Google. You have to learn from the guys doing it. Except, they’re no longer in the business of retaining new players. Not to mention there’s only about 10 of them left (career baiters I mean not just your average Joe. Folks paying multiple subs JUST baiting).

Been here since late trinity or early emperian age…really dont remember when i got here. I havent done much of anything except run missions, participate in mining fleets, and a bit of industry. Ive been away for a very long time…so maybe my opinion wont count here.

However, no matter how bad it gets…EVE will forever hold a special place in my heart. Ive put a ton of time in this game and i regret none of it.

Crazy person on the internet is your mom . Now stop twisting people’s words.

Someone at some point had to figure out those mechanics. To say that someone else couldn’t figure them out is not a rational conclusion.

lmao calm down

I typed many words in my replies. But I did not claim this or that was “BEST”, nor compared any “value”.

If you know my posting history you know that I at least was never prejudiced about any play style - I will leave that to others…

P.S. recombining parts of my sentences to suggest a completely different meaning, I thought that would be below you.

That’s because American universities are the best - we educate the world. Why can’t you train them in Europe (or Asia)? Why do they choose the US? The schools are here and the jobs are here. The CPU you are using along with those of every other user in this game was developed and manufactured about 15 miles from where I’m typing. This month’s wine shipment from Napa arrived yesterday and I’m going skiing in a few hours. What a country.

Simple, better payment ! That combined also with the fact that generally there are better facilities for them to do research . It’s not about if you “educate” them better or not.

Each country has it’s own rotten apples… it’s own problems . If we get into details, next year by this time , we would still find ourselves posting in here.

So it’s not because Americans are stupid? It’s merely because the pay is better?

We have an expression: “How you going to keep them down on the farm?” And if you know anything about this picture there’s an irony there too rich for words. Hint: this is where Silicon Valley started.

Then why not take those positions then ? Why does it have to be mostly europeans and asians ? We could get into a debate that education is expensive there , but nevertheless it’s also expensive in Europe too …

I was in UK once for a job and someone there accussed me for “stealing their jobs” . I asked him why don’t they fill in those vacant places ? There was no response…

As for the “stupid” part , I was in a heavily focused US group in this game for about 2 years and I made friends there. Most of them were saying things that they “hate” their country and people . I asked why ?
The answer that I got: " It’s because they are stupid. " For which I told them that is the same here where I live.

You consistently omit one of the primary aspects of Eve…that most of us have ‘been there’ when it comes to being cannon fodder for gankers, corporations, or whatever. We’ve all had this rite of passage…so what is unfair about it ? Every senior alliance person was once a lowly noob being used and abused by someone. Most of us have been ganked as noobs, or used as cannon fodder in some corp battles. It is not something that is wrong with the game…it is how the game works. It is how people gain the experience to become those senior alliance members.

Just as a side note, the “large influx of players” was actually 2006-early 2010. By later in 2010, the cracks in EVE’s development process were beginning to show, and the most effective devs were already bailing.

2010-2014 is the period where CCP was somewhat blinded by their previous success and began to really lose touch with EVE and the playerbase, because they had set their sights on two things:

  • “The next big thing” - whatever Hilmar or the management team thought would “broaden” CCPs success. World of Darkness, new games, new acquisitions, etc.
  • Funneling EVE players toward being nullsec F1-monkeys and corporate clones, because that’s where the metrics showed the money and the big news articles came from.

For a bit of retrospective on how things looked at the time (before even getting to the Summer of Rage in 2011), check:

You would think that after almost 20 yrs, CCP would look back in hindsight at what worked and what didn’t. Then attempt to fix the bugs in the content that didn’t work as expected and try to add more content that did.

I never was. I was born at the top of the CODE. hierarchy, and have no understanding of the little guy, nor any sympathy for the lowly pleb.

Love or hate. This is what makes EVE a great game.
