Freeport Doctrine, and Laws seem not matter in EvE anymore

Happy New Year!

They more what you’d call guidelines than actual rules.

As I have stated here, I am solo alpha and started building bases with all that ISK I made mining. My first base has this posted within the bio;

Welcome to Alpha Station
Online Since, November 22, 2023

This is a freeport for all travelers. While you can store items here, I cannot assure you this structure will not come under attack and be destroyed. Office rent is free, there is no charges and limited services available.

Alpha Station was commissioned by a solo Alpha player. P.R.I.C.E. started mining kernite back in August of 2023. Recently mining gas from low sec provided enough ISK to buy the station, core, and defenses.

If you are stuck here due to ship loss, contact Princess Rose Ivory for an escape, we keep some extra probes and launchers on hand. You might find them in contracts as well.

Have fun! o7

Those are my rules I set down. Now if some pirates want to blow it up, that is on them and the people who use it. I don’t live there, I just drop by and toss oxygen cubes into the furnace. My friend, who has been playing Eve longer than I have, told me it wouldn’t last a week. Well it is still there and some one is using it. While I don’t expect it to have a long life, if it does get exploded, I won’t lose any sleep over it as it is currently costing me ISK.

I didn’t think anyone would trust me not to turn off the access, but I think that is a pretty nasty thing to do. I am not that kind of a person. I suppose you need to ask yourself, who do I trust and have faith in here?

Have fun!

Maybe not a week, but definitely not more than a handful of months. It’s a wormhole station, which means it’s basically a loot pinata, since everything drops.

Overall, the way CCP designed the station ownership aspect of the game is absolute dogshit. It was something they put together in three weeks in order to try to steer the player base away from out-in-space “grief” PvP and toward mutual fleet warfare on top of cruddy space huts, because the token amount of piracy still happening in the game post-2014 was bleeding their casual phone-gaming boomer subscription base.

Station ownership: no sense of permanency, no feeling of accomplishment, just pointless micromanagement at the expense of routine replacement sunk costs.

So what does that make you?

Clinically psychotic, and/or sociopathic?

OH I know this one! My doctor told me not too long ago… Don’t help me now, I am sure I will get it correct.

Is the answer; Clinical depression combined with loss of judgement and reasoning skills leading to public displays of anti-social outbursts? Which is why I take a LOT of Effexor.

Did I win?

Maybe both?

I mean… it works so…

I am however, not the one who posted the “Ignore Nullsec Filaments thing, or that Nullsec Corps were psychotic”, that was another person, either the OP because he got blown up using one, or another poster, I can’t remember.
