Cool, I don’t care.
But he dared you.
So, this just got pointed out to me, and I have to ask:
Subsystems? Everything else there works as the standard list of ‘what can be in cargo if I’m putting this into another ship’. But subsystems can’t be in cargo if you want to put something into a SMB. So… subsystems?
In fact, it’s the only ship that can go in there with a covops cloak on it.
Properly-fitted, they’re better than 1/2 a T2 cruiser logi (202 hp/s vs 384 or so).
But you forgot one:
The Venture, which has built-in warp stabs and can light an industrial cyno to drop a triage-rorq if you’re crazy enough. (The Astero’s ability to light a covops cyno means it can bring in a regular cyno on a Force Recon, too.)
Probably a target paint frigate… ECM… tackler… too many options?
Make Battleships Great Again!
Its going to take more than a frigate bay to make battleships worthwhile.
What idiot thought it was a good idea to run a competition to see who can kill the most in lowsec during an event with near 100% loot drop… just going to be ruined with people killing their own alts in haulers full of plex like every other time these buffed drop rate events happen
No one is going to be dumb enough to risk “haulers full of plex” when there is a chance the plex won’t drop.
I can see the fear of the Babushka doll fight becoming a thing but for people who don’t get a fight each time having to perform this busy work of re-arranging boxes in boxes each time you move about just adds to reasons NOT to engage in game play. Please no repetitive Babushka shuffle.
for PVP, probably an Astero to loot scoop and GTFO?
for PVE, such as incursions, probably a logi frig to try and help the fleet if a DDOS or other server disconnect event is ongoing (8 of 12 ships in a VG fleet I was in D/Ced during the DDOS’s first full night in January… we all made it in the end, but if any BSes HAD popped, having logi frigs popping out of them might have helped to get the other BSes off… oh my).
What frigate?! as all things eve; it depends.
for inplants, nullified interceptor.
for fleet skirmish, ewar frig.
for pve/wh, astero.
It is going to be pretty silly if they ban all T2 frigates, but allow the Astero. The Astero is basically a supercharged covert ops frigate.
I recently figured out what this is for: WORMHOLE BATTLES.
There I was, scratching my head wondering how I was in a TDSIN Machariel, who this cool FC was, and why are bubbled all the hell and blapping HK Tempest Fleet Issues. Why TFIs? I still have no idea. But eventually my turn to be the primary came and I was alpha’d to dust in a flash.
Dang, pods are slow in a bubble fest! But I made my way out! WooHoo! Reship! Warp back to station… NOOB MOVE… caught by a saber and podded out to known space. My wormhole fight over. Note to self: Warp to a SAFE, then to STATION. Derp.
An interceptor in a Wormhole battle means it’s a lot harder to pod people out of spooky space and therefore out of the fight.
It’s okay, the next day I find myself in Rage. Again. Seems like we did this last year, but this year we are in Kikis. There we are in Rage. Again. Blowing up their stuff. Again. No fights out of them, again. But it was a good time, lots of laughs, and learning more about wormhole fighting.
In a wormhole, you put an interceptor in your battleship so you have a much higher chance of saving your pod… so you can stay in wormhole space. Got it.
For known space, it’s just a gimmick.
Except that interceptors aren’t allowed in the escape bay.
What impact does the escape bay have on:
- ship mass
- Cargo hold
- fitting slots
- Other ship characteristics
What impact does having a frigate in the escape bay have on: - ship mass
- other ship characteristics
Thank you
Some of the conversation here makes my head spin. Once I get past the people being nasty to one another, the arguments make no sense.
One, does the outside of the battleship change when you put this escape frigate in it? so the total envelope size- the outside that fits into a bay when getting tied down into a capital- so if the frigate goes inside this battleship- unknown to anyone looking at it, why the heck would it not fit into a bay where you park the battleship? Seems like some silly mechanic to nerf capitals even further.
Dont get me wrong, it is a neat idea- just does not make sense about the hanger issue…
Legacy code…
Dearest CCP. Now that the patch is live, please add a description on the battleship or in attributes showing what frigates can be fit inside the frigate bay. The announcement post has the restrictions, but the in-game ships have no labels or details on how the bay is restricted.
My question is: if the Nestor can also have a shuttle stored in it, can I choose to be ejected with that? Or can I be ejected with the shuttle if I don’t store a frigate?
