From Extraction to Production

More than 500 posts already, so here one more that will be burried and forgotten within one hour.

The “waste” occurs BEFORE you get anything in your ore hold.

So if you have a 1000m3 rock and your Strip Miner 1 yield 1700m3, at the end of the cycle, 1000m3 is dust, and 0 is in you ore hold. NOT 500-500.

If you want to get anything out of that small rock (or what is left of if), you’ll have to time yourself the best you can, else you are screwed.

I’m too disgusted to try with Strip miner 2, but I assume the same principle applies: waste first, then what is left, if any, goes into your ore hold.

Expect a lot if asteroid “remnant”, small rocks left there by the previous miner before you…

That is another layer of scarcity: the ore that will never make it to the market because the miner could not stop his strip miner in time and was wasted, and ore left in belts because the player don’t want to risk wasting time by missing the optimal end of cycle (if you have attention deficit in particular and you know you’re going to be distracted >50% of the time).

yeah i had the same info on the file i have too

Yep.

The charges per cycle are of the ore that you put in. so you put in 41xxx ore, and get out 40k compressed ore. (that’s the efficiency thing in action. it’s a front loaded cost.)

The fuel will be for the industry core which the orca can now fit.

Not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’m in singularity- but not seeing the changes reflected.

I see. Whats the capacity attribute on the module for?

How much ore you can load into it.

in an Orca, for example, you can load it up from your cargo hold (35k) and fill it with 150,000 units of Veldspar. Then run it for 3 minutes before it stops and needs to reload.

Probably the worst pile of steaming crap I have seen in the 12 years I have been playing, so my question is ok so WHAT THE HELL WAS POINT OF EXCAVQATOR DRONES??? Why did we spent all the ISK and time for those to have it literally flushed down the f******* toilet? Ive already unsubbed 6 of my accounts and will probably follow suit with 3 of the other 4 as there is no need anymore as everyone thing I actually ENJOYED you pretty much destroyed. Good job CCP just seems yall just get dumber and dumber every year and dont listen to a f******* thing from players.

Oh, and does the compact indy core really need to use heavy water? can’t it provide another use for liquid ozone?

Remember the great barge buff? Procurer/Skiff got battleship tanks, retriever/mackinaw got can sized holds. It happened not long after hulkageddon became permanent.

CCP said it was a routine balance pass. I concluded they had a sense of humour. Not enough was done for some barges and miners migrated to procurers and skiffs. Later orca got a bug buff and the small ore holds on procurer/skiff made the orca very popular.

Now procurer and skiff are getting big tank reductions and orca is getting big yield reduction, and the other barges aren’t getting buffed much. CCP can either address this now or after a lot of miners quit. It will be the later. I expect another ‘routine’ balance about a month after these changes.

ill your rorqual is in lonetrek, ill give you a billion isk for it

I’m with you now. Thanks.

Do not simply look at the “Info” tab, they didn’t updated them

Noted- but I also attempted to attach a covert ops module to my endurance, something that should be possible with the update, but it didn’t work.

Oh, wait- I see it now. I’m good. Thanks for the response.

the tank without modules is actually a little better. (we’re talking marginal.)

And the procurer is getting another low slot.

How are things fully fit? The procurer will suffer, yes. (39k unfit. 2 fewer mids, 1 more low). the Skiff will likely suffer a little, with one mid fewer. But increased base resists are good, as are the increased resists from skills.

dont forget the surge of mining bots that this is going to create,

“Mining waste can be tracked in the mining ledger.”

Will this be available in the Corporation Moon Mining Ledger?

OK, having read through the comments, I notice that nobody has asked what happens to all the Mining Crystal Blueprints that I’ve invested so much to optimize! Has CCP considered how the destruction of such sets players like myself back by months to years? NERF is what CCP does when it TAKES AWAY what we had before, in order to sell it to us again, and beyond the reduction in mining yields that 200% minus 100% waste minus inefficiencies in compression equals, and the reduction in Rorquals drone yields, it looks like those of us responsible for research and industrial production are getting brutally beaten with another nerf bat full o nails driven through it! CCP, you say you want our comments, well, I’d appreciate a response clarifying what you intend to do to our BLUEPRINTS!

This NERF comes LESS than 11.7 months after they NERFED my ability to build ALL Capitals and SuperCapitals, so I not only had to spend 11.7 months training up to being able to build ALL Capitals and SuperCapitals AGAIN, but also had to spend 10’s of billions buying, and then as much again on RESEARCHING/IMPROVING all the NEW Blueprints required to build C’s&SC’s!

So when I ask what they’re doing to our blueprints THIS time around, I’ve very good reasons for doing so! By NOT explicitly mentioning the full requirements that they’re IMPOSING with these changes, some might find them favorable. But when the WHOLE EFFECT is considered, this is naught but YET ANOTHER MONEY GRABBING NERF!

Feedback on the Orca changes.

Positive: Compact compression module is interesting that is all the positives.

Negatives: Compact industrial core does nothing to prevent being ganked. A sitting duck for 5 minutes. Shield boosting bonus is mediocre it needs bastion-like boost to shield/armor/hull resistances to be meaningful. Orca also has mediocre power grid especially for a ship made from capital components or for a ship it’s size and what it is expected to fit now including compact modules and shield tank. Might even need an extra high slot? May be needs a boost to mass (think Higgs Boson + 500MN MWD running mass level) when active to limit bumping by ships setting up for a gank – or may be all the time when the compact industrial module is fitted and online even if not active. May be a larger fuel bay for heavy water?

Other comments: I do not mind the nerf to Orca mining drones or waste. The issues with waste other players are doing a good job anyway arguing the merits good or bad.

what was even the point of letting the rorq still have mining drones but nerf the yield so much, is this just so you still have a use for ‘Excavator’ Mining Drone? if these changes happen there would be no real point to mine with them at all, we all will just use the sub cap fleets that cant locked on the field for 5 mins with cored up, if you do a rejig like this you need to reduce the duration of the core 5 mins is far to long for a uber expensive useless boosting ship to be stuck in a belt and now you wanna core up orcas lol have them suck in a belt for 5 mins also haha, the risk to mining ratio with the rorq is at a sweet spot right now risking 7+ bill rorq to mine moon goo and ice with its current yield, and now they will be a glorified noctis sitting on the edge of tether using tractor beams to suck in jet cans while we just use barges and porpoise to mine, your killing the rorq off there will be no point having them, big woop if you get a bit better bonuses with them there not worth this isk having them sit there cored up in a belt boosting everyone, indo rorq guys have freighters too so even your compression idea is lame we dont need to compress it and loose more goo in the process, we compress it and loose goo and then when we reprocess we loose more goo so now it would be a double hit hahaha all i see is less people mining and more bots being activated todo it, becasue its really not worth peoples time anymore, that my rant for the day, im told im aloud one per week
