From Extraction to Production

there were so many options, t2 capitials, increase and create new ORE sinks, buff PI etc.
instead we’re seeing more regulations and nerfs trying to turn back the time to 2010… move the game forwards not backwards… cancelling alt subscriptions is only option… I was full of hope that we will see some improvements

Epic owned. Welcome to EVE, don’t take ANYTHING for granted

So some years ago you “invested” time in Rorqual developement and now you DEMAND lets say… CRONIC WIN? hahahaha.

Welcome to EVE no thing is eternal.

Yeat another INSTA-WIN demander.

Welcome to EVE there should be pros and cons in everything. Not just pros.

Toons who only want advantages and zero inconvenients are better leaving the game.

Now thats a productive suggestion

Have you met Eve players?

From your replies I do get the feeling that you consider group mining ops a fun and desirable activity. Do you have metrics and feedback backing that?

From my experience this is considered the most dull and annoying activity, often just must do thing in the game. So people try to offload that task to the very few people willing to do that, then with a lot of alts.

Wouldn’t it make much more sense to push mining more to be optimized for easy solo play?

Plus, please give the Proc one med slot back (should have 3), the battle Procurer is a thing and actually fun. Retain more role flexibility for ships.

I am increasingly distorted to see that ccp no longer understands its own games. It is not a question of modifying the game but the solutions to propose which are not at all appropriate. You should really question yourself. Because a lot of the latest patches don’t make sense. And the add-on solutions are by no means logical. But add to the complexity where the game is already enough. if you want to attract new players, you should simplify it a bit instead of creating more and more complicated things to understand.

CCP try to play the patches you want to implement this will show you the absudity of a lot of the modifications

Example How to create phantasm now …

Share that sentiment. The effort to balance and create new content is appreciated but they seem to miss the point. The complexity added to mining is all front loaded, means once the math is solved what is the optimal equipment to use, mining remains the same dull activity. Ok, plus a new mini game for compression, yeah.

The new PvE sites miss the point because the only appeal is their reward, which is crap. It’s crap because nobody builds BS and caps. Does the mining change address that point? No.

You still have no idea how and why people play this game.
Such a pity really, I used to just dislike your halfassed meddling.
Now I just feel sorry for you.

excellent

You do know how Eve is played, yes?
Dedicated players work toward optimising any and every “advantage” they can find to negate inconveniences.

You’ve just told 99% of players, Eve is not for them.

I have three accounts. I will not add more. After about a ten year break, I came back in the middle of scarcity and indy changes. So I ran some numbers to see if mining was worth it (isk/hr wise) for “low acount” cases:

For context, I got a Rokh when they first came out strictly to see if there was finally a mining platform that wouldn’t instantly die to gankers. If you’re wonder, I found that my time was better spent running missions to buy minerals to build ships for PVP than mine.

The answer was yes, for Rorqs. Looking at the net changes, the Rorq is less thank a Hulk w/ boosts. This is a net nerf in m3/hr. And when you factor in drone travel time (as I did in my sheet), 1 Rorq is slightly less than 3 Hulks. The Hulk got a net buff of 8% in m3/hr. So if I use all three accounts to mine AND get someone else to haul for me AND get someone else to provide boosts this would allow all my accounts to mine slightly more than 1 Rorq. This isn’t the end of scarcity, it’s the end of good isk/hr for mining unless you massively multibox. Good for CCP, not great for a game with declining player count.

They are only adding access to resources back to the game for folks capable and willing to multibox or bot. 100% not recommended. This reverts mining to where it was 10 years ago; to folks that don’t care about the value or their time, folks that have a stupid amount of accounts, and bots.

Lastly, I like the idea of Type C crystals to clear out crap ore from the field to get a new spawn. I like the idea of using Type C crystals to “burn the enemy’s crops.” But I don’t think corp / alliance leadership needs more drama to deal with. The Waste mechanics are fine for Type C crystals, but for everything else (drones, T1, T2, faction) the waste needs to come from individual yield. OR make the Rorqual what it used to be: a poor man’s JF that provides boosts from safety (my first Rorq was used exclusively to transport modules to null to refine into needed minerals, because mining was was not worth anyone’s time).

I appreciate that you’ll put a lot of time into this, but this makes the amount of resources lower over time so this isn’t the end of scarcity. It’s not at present a good improvement. Re-work the waste mechanic because it’s terrible. A Rorq worth 10b mining 3x a 300m Hulk is fair and reasonable. Lastly, whaling fleets figured out how to kill Rorqs: bring 100+ bombers or kikimoras (1-2b) to kill a 10b ship; that is fair. See zkill, you’ll find plenty of decent fit Rorq kills (also a bunch of fail fit Rorqs).

Procurers were actually nerfed really hard - 2 mid slots removed pretty much killed its tanking ability.
The most widely used barge in the game now has a paper tank. With destructive mining crystals I would expect maximum use of the highest yield high waste varieties to eat up a high percentage of available ores - This will create more scarcity.

Thank you CCP, another 2 Omega accounts will be shut down soon ! Dont you think making live “easier” last year to players will bring more users and income to You ??? Then reconsider this, the answer is NO !
Everything what you change last year, what was fun in that game before you broke it, you make manufacturing harder and not efficient, you bring algoritms to combat sites to worstening loots, changing uppwells with core to burn by players, you changed also the ships to make them fall faster etc etc, and now MINING ??? The biggest fun from using orca and rorqual semi afk in many hours and after that building some ??? Enough !
You will make a nail to coffin of that game doing in that way… thank you very much indeed :frowning: pity very pity…

I am disoponted of these patch.
Where is a point for Me as a single player to earn Rorqual or Orka, If I can’t get any benefit for it.
So now they will be “only” for peapl with 4 Hulk alts.

At least You could return minerals to Arkanor and Bistrot.

JFC, I forgot about the compression. I’m cool with the losses. I’m cool with the skills. I think the modules are dumb. I think the time consuming mini-game if beyond dumb. This clearly doesn’t allow folks to know ore is there’s. It clearly will take a stupid amount of time. And corp logistics is already a PITA. Stop trying to make this game a menial job. Make a compression module, let it me instant, let it all work from and to the fleet hanger.

If somebody is interested, I made an extended version of the devblog. It includes numbers from the Excel file.

Lol that is exactly what I was scratching my head over. New players in Ventures are going to get extra heat or heavily encouraged into non mining activities.
