From Extraction to Production

Rorqual looses half its ore hold to a gas hold WTF CCP

Or you use mining frigates and/or barges to grab the ice, which generate only 33% waste, then haul the stuff to the local refinery and reproc (OMG !!) it. Then, the belt will have (2 / (1 + 0.33)) = 1.5 times more ice

Proc - 2 mid + 1 low, - 1k shield - 500 structure - 60 reduction in velocity
Skiff - 1 mid, - 1500 shield, -1000 structure - 500 armour but got the increase in resists that the others got which is +5% on shield and armour. - 90 in velocity

They did make the barges less squishy, but not by much…

Methinks miner gankers will be overall, pretty happy… and if not, nothing will please them.

Question on a possible typo because this spreadsheet is a mess. On the Industrial Core II new module it states that mining boost amount is 40%, but the ingame module is 36%. Is this an actual increase or just a flub. I would consider making this a real change though. You are adding zero added utility to having the rorqual on field in its new role without adding increases to mining yield to fleet members. Should also increase the Industrial Core I by 4% to match this change.

in the other side of these changes we can now put all our empire alts with minimum mining skills and go destroy mining operations in empire with the waste feature. just select the best asteroids and destroy it with waste. The tears this is going to cause.

Can we get an option to refund all our mining skill points and ISK for skill books?

Doubling resource quantity of

  • Ore in asteroids belts

Does that mean I don’t need to warp to 20 lowsec belts to finally find some little 1000m³ rocks of Kernite? Or is zero times two still zero ?

People who operate Refineries I’d guess. Especially in highsec, all the minerals are just compressed to be hauled away and sold to the nullseccers and wormholers who can reproc it at so much higher yield than anything in highsec. Now they might have an incentive to reproc the stuff (paying reproc tax to you) and haul away the minerals instead.

Double of nothing is still nothing, not sure what the plan is here.

I like these proposed changes. It makes sense logically. Orcas are meant as command and support ships. Now barges/exhumers mine more! I find it hard for anyone who supports solo orca mining or even boxing with orca mining.

Can’t wait to see the cries from people not being able to do mining missions because of this garbage waste mechanic, it will be glorious! :joy:

As a high sec miner:

  1. There will be double that amount of ores in belts, which means Botters will be able to mine even more and thus reducing the price of ore and minerals.
  2. Procurer and skiff have lower tank which means miners will be generally hunted and become prey for the PvP P2W folk.
  3. Everything else is basically irrelevant (for me at least).

To sum up:
Less ISK for more danger, thanks CCP!

The new compression mechanics is what I suggested all the way back when the ore compression was about to be introduced.
And now I laugh.

Double, with the introduction of waste, is quite a bit less then double

Easy to miss, but the type C crystals waste 18x what they cycle, as opposed to standard 1x

These changes are great. Happy to see the solo Orca/Rorqual miner nerfed in a big way. Now remove or drastically shorten the invuln on the Rorqual.

The new compression modules were not included in the spreadsheet although there is a hyperlink.
