And then your adding this new mechanic where if you donât have absolutely perfect skills, and perfect boosts, your going to âkillâ half of whatever your mining?

It would be nice to see a skill or command burst to reduce mining wasteâŚor both.
This Dev blog is cowardly refraining from including in the actual post the amount of nerf being applied here and hides all of that data inside the included spreadsheet.
There is also a major typo that leaves the T2 Industrial Coreâs Drone Mining Yield bonus @ 500%, this is inconsistent with the T1 core being nerfed from 400% to 100%, the actual value is likely going to be 125% for the T2 Core
the total change for rorqual drone bonus is going from max 590% with a T2 core to 165% with a T2 core (10% per level being removed from ship hull as well) (40% from mining drone rigs)
Note* Rigs are mentioned in the dev blog but no rig changes are mentioned in the offending spreadsheet of hide your nerfness.
Combined with the 1/80 fraction loss weâre looking at a reduction to 27.61652542372881% of its original value.
Oh yes and then there is compression loss as well another reduction of 79% for Ice or 90% for ore/gas
This brings it down to 24.85487288135593% for Ore - Edit removed ice conclusion here as it utilizes a different calculation for mining.
This change is going to encourage and embolden players to bot utilizing mining barges on burner accounts. Considering CCPâs ability to police bots this is a damning state of future gameplay
The nerfing of mining drone bonuses is especially poorly considered.
I could wax lyrical on why this is a bad idea for the poor Orca and other pilots - but please please donât do this

not entirely accurate. you can build t1 frieghters and orcaâs in hisecâŚalso bowheads too. i have built hundreds of capitals in both regions and youâre correct in that you cannot build them alone anymore these days. it takes a big alliance with entire corps focused on one part of production nowâŚno more building dreads or carriers alone. huge loss for the game.
If my calculations are right, this is overall 10%-15% nerf to the availability of the ores and other mining material.

I may have missed it, but what will happen to existing mining crystals and their blueprints? Will the crystals be converted to the new system? Will new BPs need to be bought?
It depends, what crystal do you assume people would use? Type A, B or C?
If the amount of ore in belts doubled and people use the slow but less wasteful crystals, the amount of available ore increased.
If people use the wasteful crystals to annoy their mining neighbours by emptying entire belts at high rates, the amount of available ore decreased.
Overall I like this change (mining waste, choice between high yield with more waste or slower yield with more efficiency) as it allows players to choose how they mine belts: good for their own wallet or good for the group. Or even be malicious and mine bad for your own wallet but also magnitudes worse for the group.

Whatâs the basis of your calculation? Everyone remaining mining the way they are in Rorqs and compressing on site?
All these people complaining are the same people who grew complacent with easy mining.
Are those headache inducing jump animations still in place?
with the capital core temp reg, it costsâŚCOSTS 3.5 bill to make. this makes the t1 frieghters worth at least that right? reducing pi and mineral amounts matter very little these days. hell, even here in nullsec they skip over the ab rocks and mine only mercoxit, ice and moon belts. in fact, look at what materials go into a nyx now. from what i could see, it costs more than 100 bill to make one. let that sink in. now with the nerfs to resource gathering and production, that has to go up yet again. and remember, ccp chose to wipe out an entire skill set (resource processing) and replace it with this dumbed down bs.
That will be great to put all resistant shield on the exhumer at 30 %. That will be better to tank all NPC in EVE.
Also that will be great to make a modification in rorqual can use all isotopes.
About ore hold, ice Hold etc. Really make only one itâs more easy. donât need to create 3.
About wasted. Why ⌠Again the new player will be the most affected about that.
CCP, what is the point of having specialised ore holds if most mining ships and mining boosters have three equally sized specialised holds?
Canât you have one general âore/ice/gasâ hold for those ships?
What is the purpose of splitting these holds?
You can put a shield power relay, power diagnostic, or shield flux in the releasing low. For most people, removing the 2 mids wonât make it a lot less tanky because those mids were barely used to actually fit shield tank anyways. At least in null, multispectral shield hardener + 2x web + scram was a very common setup for Procurers.
Now, Procurers can tank rats a bit better, but pvpers, especially blasterboats, are less likely to rethink whether they want to go grab themselves a proc killmail when they have the chance to grab a proc.
