So changing the Orca’s role to an actual command ship that supports mining and not mining more then t1 barges is bad? There should be fleets of 1 Orca + barges/exhumers/mining frigates. NOT entire fleets of mining orcas. That’s my one main takeaway from these changes.

Well, after this change, your average miner is going to see a reduction in avaliable materials to gather by around 75%, so I cant see this makeing antthing cheaper to produce.

Oh, not only that, but they nerfed the major production people into the ■■■■■■■ ground by nerfing the rorals ability to mass mine.

They call it redistrubition, but in reality the only thing they are redistrubitng is thier player base to other games.

hey ccp quit overthinking stuff and get rid of waste and reduce the amount of minerals from reprocessing by half.

All these people complaining are actually doing what they like to do in Eve, while CCP gives them the shaft yet again. Sounds like you pvp so go ahead and do that.

This is all far too complicated and mostly unnecessary.

This type of thing just reinforces everyone’s idea that people at CCP are completely clueless about how the game is ACTUALLY played.

I wasn’t sure that your reputation for ineptitude could go any lower, but awesome stuff, CCP you have managed it by no short margin.

WELL DONE !!!

The issue with CCP’s design methodology, as usual, is that they’re pushing players to get more alts.

What they did here was bring up baseline resilience on barges in a way that should make it impossible to solo-gank any (properly fitted) barge, without tangibly affecting ganking in general. They’re basically telling the solo ganker “nah bruh, you gon’ need another account for this ■■■■ lmao.”

Which is fine, I guess. It will just force gankers to create the capacity for additional firepower, which will translate into gankers as a group having more firepower available when going after higher-HP targets, indirectly requiring fewer gankers to be online/active to be able to go after all types of targets. This is going to create a false sense of security for the bears, as they’ll see the overall HP buffs and praise CCP for the handout, without realizing how much more it will negatively affect them in terms of the big picture.

THE END IS NIEGH

COMPRESS NOW AND SELL EVERYTHING!

How do you figure?

A T1 miner will mine 100 units and the roid will lose 200 units per cycle.

A T2 miner will miner 100 units and have the roid will lose 100 units, with a 34% chance at losing another 100 units.

A T1 miner will have the same effective asteroid size as before, T2 will gain 50%, and faction will gain 100%.

PI materials aren’t even the problem for battleships. They don’t contribute significantly to their price increase. It’s the gas that does it. There’s the culprit. And what does CCP do about it exactly –

All Mykocerocin quantities are doubled, whilst spawn chance of extra sites that was added earlier this year has been reduced.

So, things will not change dramatically. These changes seem more like a facelift, to make it look like they’re improving things when in reality they are not?

The only people CCP care about are the folks that do ‘magical teleportation buttons fleets’ out of jita, because there 95x more likely to pull out their CC and buy plex than anyone else.

The only thing CCP is redistrubiting is thier player base to other games at this rate.

Oh, the diamond miners that clear out the lowsec belts even before the jump gate authorities have cleared the gate for the first time after downtime, are going to be fit with Type C modules I guess, so they can clear the belts even faster, finally removing all ores from low, and with them the miners (other then the blops prospects).

No miners in the belts = no miners to be ganked in the belts

How’s that a huge loss for the game? Everybody has been complaining about the capital spam a couple years ago and now that that’s being worked on everyone’s crying again. I don’t get it.

Its all very new and revolutional, I cant think of it as clearly as possible. However, mining waste mechanic may bring trouble in mining overall, even though doubling ores is nice. I’m affraid mining waste can discriminate lower skills miners, of course everything depends on to what extent it happens and how hard will these mining waste skills be.
Industrial cores at orca and porpoise look good, although maintenance costs are something to consider. I wish all these statistics are still subject to change and testing phase will bring us purified and mostly fixed update.

Overall, I am hoping the best, maybe it doesnt lead to something we wouldnt call ,prosperity’’.
Good luck CCP.

you, you mean buffs right? no matter how you slice it even with the nerfs everything other than solo rorqual mining has seen a buff

Not to mention large amounts of resources have been cut out of several capital bpos

Only in your dreams. Gas mining just saw a major nerf if you consider it as an income source. With the huge projected influx of gas, it becomes pretty worthless. Just because something has more yield doesn’t mean it is a better outcome overall.

I’m very confused.

Returning after 10 years away, and I look at all the changes done over the years meant to “fix” things and make things better, and can clearly see it hasn’t worked. None of it. Not the changes in production, the changes in resources, the changes in war decs, nothing.

Then I read about these new fixes to increase production and KNOW it isn’t going to work.

CCP still doesn’t get it. Anyone else think that Revelations was the beginning of a very long, slow downward slide?

The Rorq definitely needed a serious nerf and though the sheet looks to be a bit broken on the Industrial Cores section it overall looks like a pretty good one. To those who are surprised about a nerf, honestly the writing has been on the wall for years now and CCP have been openly stating that they wanted to re-specialize the Rorq back to a support role.

While I’m not as much of a fan of the Orca nerf, I’ve seen firsthand how absolutely broken they are in highsec, with entire systems being stripped of ore within hours even before the scarcity period began.

These two changes more or less put us back to the pre-citadel mining meta; Industrial Command Ships and Capital Industrial Ships are purely in a support role, being dedicated to links and compression while barges and exhumers do the mining. And to be honest I’m perfectly happy with this; the amount of ore being injected into the game through these ships was broken, so much so that it completely changed the core of the game.

The compression changes I’m completely happy with as well, it allows the Orca and Rorq to retain functionality that cannot be replaced by a station, and of course fixes the mess that was Moon Ore Logistics.

The Waste concept sounds interesting, but like others have said having T1 modules with such a high waste output could be problematic for new players. I also think a doubling of the ore amounts wasn’t really enough, even with the nerfs to rorqs. And moons definitely didn’t need it, T2 ships are already incredibly overpowered for their cost as is (obligatory please kill HACs).

Happy to see the reduction in BS / Capital build requirements, though I’m not up enough on that part of the game to know if it’s enough.

On the barge changes, pls don’t nerf the Skiff and Proc lol

Maybe CCP wanted a new incentive to gank newbros in their free venture and T1/Civilian mining lasers, in order to “protect” the asteroid belts from all the waste they generate. A new “Safety”, I guess.
