From Extraction to Production

Please keep minerals in highsec moons.

I see a lot of posts like that. When nullsec guys stop mining, do you seriously think highsec people are not going to be impacted?

Your missing a major point.

This game removes rorquals from being a viable ship to be on grid > You cant kill rorquals anymore…

They remove rorqual’s, Multiboxers switch to using 20m coveters that warp off in 10s…

This also screws noobies completly… Ventures cant mine gas, Meaning you cant kill them… Meaning less people out in space for you.

Newbies cannot mine at all.

its not like rouqs where ez to kill sure solo with no back up they where a piece of cake but when they have a back up fleet formed and ready there allmost impossible to kill, the fact that people can’t use them is not really my problem 10 coveters are much ezer to kill then a rouq anyway. given a good set up tho you can kill them Related Kills | Raeghoscon | 2021-11-09 01:00 | zKillboard

on the test server yes, but these are currently subject to adjustments. there is talk of an extra highslot on the orca and porpoise, and adjustments to powergrid and cpu to help fit compression module/s

If you can’t tackle something in 10 seconds your issue isn’t these changes.

the rorqual will be the most powerful mining ship in the game after this update, and will cost less to build.

Ventures can still mine gas, they just wont have the huge and fairly overpowered bonus that they had before

not true, the rorg has the best compression available with skills and modules, has increase command burst effects and aimed more towards a fleet support and command ship over mining.

yes it’s mining capacity has been reduced from what it was, but it still drone mines better than some others

Been on test server now and tank nerf on procurer isn’t so big. Switching to hull tank with T1 rigs, 1 bulkhead and 1 multi shield hardener gives 65K EHP. Still there is less flexibility with resists, overheating does little, it’s slower and less agile. So it’s a lot less lovable now.

This patch is the product of anti-engineering efforts.
Work = Effort (Force) x Result (Displacement)

CCP put a lot of effort in this patch… but the Result has a negative sign, i.e., displacement went in the wrong direction, thus, work done is negative.

This is why this situation is bad. Lets look at one of the ships being changed and why its not a good change.

This is the Endurance in Tranquility. With three Frostline Omnivores and a Yeti Implant. 45.56sec cycle time. UNBOOSTED. Baseline Ice Mining Laser is 5 minutes plus. Actually really good under boost its down to 22-26sec. Depending on location I think you can go lower with Supermetaliminal Storms with the 10% to 25% mining speed bonuses.

So why would you take this nightmare? Same ship with more Frostline Omnivores +4 now. And Yeti. And its nearly 105 sec? And the dang thing if with a T2 Ice Mining Laser loses 1 out of 3 ICE per sets cycled. I was using an ORE Ice Mining Laser.

And did CCP have a stroke and forget Winter Nexus uses Ice Mining systems? This will be a disaster for Winter Nexus Ice Mining Event for the Miners!

Do not tweak the Endurance like this. Its a bad idea period. Also the current concept of Endurance directly competes with all the Exploration ships and can out fight and gun an Astero!

The Holds need to be 15,000m3 ICE and ORE. If you give it a gas hold you need to give it a gas harvesting bonus in yield.

The Drones make sense when it helps boost the mining or defense of the ship. I can understand boosting that, but then you are making a mini-barge.

Do not change the Endurance.

The Prospect needs work…but gas yield needed to differentiate it from the Venture. The changes are not good either.

Prospect and Endurance can also be fitted aggressively to contest sites versus explorers. Which is not the intent of these ships.

And the Expeditions are to be the solo miners friend, why are they being destroyed? They were pretty well balanced just needed some tweaks.

odds are everyone is overreacting as allways and the update won’t be half as bad as people make it out to be

I hope when it goes live is not half as bad. I hope its TWICE as bad haha!

Odds are that CCP will introduce the changes without revisions and without proper warning  like it has never happened before haha.

Compression needs to be available in highsec refineries. The reasons are too obvious to go into here, but without that ability then those o.5 moons lose all value.

Are there Hisec Refineries with compression that havent been attacked and destroyed? Unless they are from the big nullsec alliances…

I, largely, am pleased about the changes to the endurance, though do think it needs to keep its ice bonus.

then I don’t think you understand how valuable reprocessed mats can be from a .5 moon. and, I mean, purely, the r4 mats

Moon ore compression in highsec would be amazing, but it not being there won’t be the end of moon mining in highsec

IS there moon mining in hisec? I remember seeing lots and lots of athanors in 0.5… but they are not that many anymore… unless they belong to the nullsec groups and big corps

there is, yes, and for smaller groups, its surprisingly good money, once reprocessed for a good field clear out. not something big groups really would give a damn about but not insignificant
