From Extraction to Production

Why? Quite simply, why? I want to play solo. I do not want to engage with other people. Don’t give me the second M nonsense - multiplayer provides an environment that makes up for a lot of holes in Eve’s content. I have to evade human predators, compete for resources against others, etc. That does not mean I have to play WITH them, as opposed to play AROUND them.

Cue some idiot telling me that Eve is the wrong game for me because I do not have the same perspective as they do!!! @CCP_Rattati - do you want me to continue paying you money? Simple question.

If not wanting to engage with anyone makes sense, then why is the a Corp tab with all your NPC corp mates. Do you not ever chat in there?

So then don’t use a rorqual if you don’t want to lose it. Use a barge, I fully support the rorqual becoming a fleet support ship. If anything they should bring the rorqual excavator yield up to a max boosted yield with a hulk. maybe a little more. but not like it used to be.

Remember the good old days of off grid rorquals? didn’t use one to mine then did you?

CCP is trying to fix their game like it used to be before rorquals were 5x the yield of hulks. But its to late.

No.
I only use chat to say thank you, for example, to a fellow ratter who turns blue the wrecks or loot that they do not want. Courtesy, not cooperation. Other usage is to post warnings on Gank-Intel - again courtesy.

Ok fair enough. That blinking Corp tab would really drive me nuts.

Do it static ship Do it again grid ship. But dont want pay 10B for it!!! And dont want learning 1 year for it! Undestand? I think you still dont get the point. Or im fine if they remove the Indu core 5 minits standing. Then the ship gives a little mobilyti and myabe can ascape it self.

Don’t worry, the price will go down

Ah, got it. You’re concerned the asteroid amount won’t be doubled, apologies for missing the point.

Double production halved price?

The balance will be interesting to see what happens.

i think the issue is bigger than this. I dont think doubling will be enough in the case of these missions if the waste mechanic is working as folks have described in here. For example if the need 1000m3 of an ore. so the asteriod would need to be 2000m3 right?

so say your yeild is 400m3 per cycle.

first cycle 400 waste and 400 to you 1200 left in the asteriod
second cycle 400 waste and 400 to you. 400 left in the asteriod
third cycle 400 waste and 0 to you. asteriod is gone.

This is based on folks saying that the waste always comes off first. So in order to actually get that 200m3 you are short you would manually need to stop the cycle exactly at 50% mark to get 200waste and 200 ore.

Given player yileds could exist on a wide spectrum the asteriods would need to be oversized so this waste first mechanic on the last cycle doesnt screw up the mission.

Im hoping this isnt how the waste will end up working but its how its been described by people testing it earlier in this thread.

Good work!
Rorqs should die in this game

Im never experienced this LEVEL OF AMATERISM on BIG COMPANY

WE DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT CHANGES ARE TRUE AND WHAT IS SOMEBODY F UP EXEL.

this is first table on top

Under that is

And on SISI is this

SO what are the REAL actual changes ???

IS CCP UNCOMPETENT EVEN TO USE EXCEL???

FWI if you nerf rorqual to the ground expect return of XP FARM HULK SWARMS THAT NOBODY CATCH and masive botting…

Im literary know the guy who have 15 accounts ready to activate if he loose rorqual this will not make people use rorquals as boosters this will remove them from the game compleatly and bring BOT HULK SWARMS BACK…

CCP FAIL

Exactly.

Lore wise you are paying the faction to create that ship/module for you. As in the npcs built it and you paid in lp plus isk. What we want to avoid is an irl credit card swipe for 10 vigilants.

They won’t die if they’re not undocked.

Yes I do remember that, it was my first time in null and had just finished training into my 1st of 2 rorqual pilots, back then when I could boost system wide, I used an orca to ferry the ore from my 4 hulks(have 8 now) to the rorq to compress( thus when we had to use blueprints in the rorq to compress) it was more fun, enjoyable and more of a social thing as a lot of the pvpers used to mine as well. However as CCP kept changing mining so did the social aspect of mining, the is made from it as well, before null I used to make about 75-100 mil an hour with 2 orcas and 4 hulks, went to null used a rorq instead of an orca added 30-50 mil an hour, now 1 account ratter can make upwards 100-120 mil an hour meanwhile us miners have to use way more accounts to get to the same. That is why so many of us trained for the single account mining of the rorq that was the goal for me, my endgame scenario so I didn’t have to use so many accounts and spend so much time mining and could spend more time enjoying the game and do more for my Corp. For me what drew me to EvE was industry I love mining, building ships and bpo/bpc research. I have 2 rorq pilots that I trained the old fashioned way not with injectors, nerfing the rorq is just a slap to my face and big **** you to me. If I have to use 10 accounts to mine what I used to be able to get with 2 then I’d rather just give mining altogether and either possibly just go ratting or just go find another game that can entice me like EvE used to, as it is now its more like a 2nd job anymore.

i heard they are nerfing my battle proc by taking away 2 mids. i only pksy eve because of this ship. have been flying it for years and years. some of you may know Grace Genisis. i’ll probably retire from the game if they do this. at least i made it to the top of zkill in a procurer. Are you guys able to lobby ccp about this change? it’s going to kill my eve career lol they said you guys have some influence on the game :).

the ridiculous journey of the rorqual.
began as fleet support , sit at POS and boost.
turn into mining platform with OP excavator drones (over 1 bil each at the time)
nerf
nerf
nerf
make drones bigger so you can only fit 3 in wetsu mobile depot (guarantee loss of 2 if rorq dies)
rorq uses industrial core, only carry industrial ships, iindustrial fleet support, but cant use industrial cyno
nerf
and now, take away tank, drone effectiveness, remove simple compression
why would anyone in their right mind fly one? just remove them and give us bakc the sp and book costs

Then don’t pay for it, don’t use it, Don’t train for it. You’re not forced to siege it. If you don’t have people who can defend it, that’s on your for being in the wrong alliance/corp. No one is forcing you to use it.

Well, they must undock to compress moon ore, and can’t tether when they do

@CCP_Dopamine

After many discussions with other players I would like to give here CCP my feedback to this devblog

Before I get in there though, first a preparation. Please go to the people in your company who have the numbers for subscription and ask them how many have canceled their subscription since 12.11. compared to the days before. Also go to the people who had weekend duty and ask them what has been going on in the Jita system. Besides, a look at this forum and other platforms could not hurt to get a view of what’s going on. Because you need to understand something that seems to have not yet reached Iceland: The players are very discontent.

I will try to explain why. Three years ago, it was recognized that the industry in Eve is not on a good long-term path. Pretty much everyone agrees with that, building one titan per month with one char has not been a good thing. The first solution was “the era of chaos” which led to the biggest drop in player numbers ever. That this was not the right way was also understood at CCP and it came something new: the big plan! A new reworking of the industry to be better overall. To do this, it should first be really difficult for the players in the form of scarcity. This was not well received but still tolerated, because it was said that there is a plan and if we all persevere, it will be better in the end.

It was announced for months that scarcity will be over end of 2021. On my Internet browser right now I see everywhere “The Age of Prosperity”.

When it was announced that on 12.11. after two years(!) finally all were quite expectant. Big industrialists hoped that their gameplay will return, small miners that they can set new aims, alliance leaders that money will come back, pvpplayer that there will soon be more targets to shoot and pveplayer that it will be the first step of many into a whole new gameplay. They have all been disappointed. Instead of the “Age of Prosperity” new nerfs, only this time hidden behind a lot of promising words. Instead of new mechanics, old ones are given new restrictions and most of the problems are not addressed but made worse.

Players have gone along for two years on the promise of improvement through the “grand plan.” But sentences like “In addition to the doubling of resources, a new ‘mining waste’ mechanic will be introduced.”, “Gone are the days of ‘lossless’ compression. From now on, when you compress resources, some amount will be lost during the process.” “This will mean that Rorqual proliferation in New Eden will be impacted, which will mean more from everyone that is not in a Rorqual” does not give people the feeling that this promise will be kept.

To be exact: that it is not a “Age of Prosperty”, but about a continuation of the scarcity. Also comments from CCP employees like “solo moon mining is not a god given right” I have to assume a certain arrogance and have to answers “getting money from player subscription is also not a god given right”. Therefore, the players feel lied to, misunderstood and betrayed. From this grows the discontent which you hopefully see.

After this admittedly long comment now to the direct feedback to the devblog “From Extraction to Production” from the “Age of Prosperty”.

The interpretation from what CCP hopefully gets the protest of the players should be this: Clean wipe and back to the drawing board!

This time please with a focus on:

  • Restoration of the removed belts and ore anomalies.

Regardless of how much and fast you can miner, it would be nice if something was there for mining. It was 90% removed, doubling what little is left (and taking it away again by mining waste and compression cost) is not the answer.

  • New mining ships!

That the Rorqual becomes boosting platform, okay, but then something else must come! How about mining ships in battleship size? Ships that mine slightly (not 2/3) less than a Rorqual. It can’t be that an exhummer is the endgame of mining. One more note at this point because apparently is not quite understood: Rorqual are not only there for mining, they are also the primary source of pvp nowadays. Taking away, this content creator must be replaced, otherwise it will be even(!) less going on in space.

  • Rework of Capital building

Two options, either a complete rebalance of capital building components again, or the resources needed for building must be made available! I don’t know who thought it was a great idea to use a lot of WH gas to build capital ships, but to put it as simply as possible: it was not a good idea! This gameplay is just not fun. I don’t know how many capital ships have been built since the changes, but a number around zero wouldn’t surprise me. This also leads again to other areas of gameplay: If something is irreplaceable it won’t be used so much, what isn’t used can’t be destroyed for less content and thus leads to a dying game…

So, if it has to be that you have to use masses of gas, then make it accessible. By simple spawn, or by that the weather storms leave some gas clouds behinde them, or a kind of mining titan which harvests the gas from a sun… There are hundreds of possibilities, just do something so that the profession of the producer can return.

And that leads to my last point, which is what the Age of Prosperity should really be about:

  • Give the players back their dreams.

People who start with eve want to create something in this sandbox. Whether they want to be pirates, merchants, leaders, whatever, that’s what eve has been advertised as for years, that you can fulfill your dreams in New Eden.

But how can you have industry when they say, “You want to build your own ships? Find a dozen friends from all areas of the game, then you can start. You want to build a big ship? Off to the WH with you, no, not because you can do so much with it, but because only there you get the gas to build the parts for it” and so on and so on.

The majority of people don’t come to eve because they dream of fighting with frigate fleets. They come because there are (were) possibilities to reach everything, no matter if big or small. But the Age of Prosperity which CCP strives for doesn’t seem to be about fulfilling dreams, only about keep on dreaming - forever.

If you don’t take anything from this admittedly too long text, then at least this: People want to keep playing eve, but not at all costs, because it’s a game and that means people want to have fun. And as you hopefully see from the reaction of the people, this “Age of Prosperity” you are talking of, is no fun.

Thanks for reading

I have a hangar full of caps (that I built myself from the ground up), shiny barges, exhumers, and orcas (that, again, I invented and built myself). I’m rich enough in game and out of game that I could explore any part of eve without any problems.

But what makes me log in is the chance to see my Highsec Carebear friends.

We mine moons in Highsec, and the minerals in those moons are central to our game play. We don’t want to become a part of Null. We already have our toes in Lowsec and WHs.

We need our minerals in our Highsec moons. Please.
