Future Direction of EVE

… “Everyone Vs Everyone”. Hence “EVE”. Eve wasn’t the name of some random chick one of the original dev’s was banging.

In the UK It’s closer to 70% more expensive to buy a PLEX from CCP than it is to sub for a month, just over in fact.

But, yeah.

You might be correct.

However I’m thinking the Garden Of Eden story with Adam and Eve might have played a part in the game being named EVE, especially since the cluster is named ‘New Eden’.

EVE Gate is actually the hole that gave birth to first human Adam in this part of universe. It is like the religious texts would have continuation with an astronoanatomically feministic take on story. What could Sisters of EVE actually believe, its rather vague in lore.

You can say that but I know of many experienced players in Stain who have had notable losses to npc’s including myself. Also, Burner missions can be hard if you’re not careful.

I wasn’t referring to the difficulty of NPCs in the game (I am all too well aware of how badly they can smack you around if you’re not prepared!); I’m talking about the nature of EVE’s PVE design and how it is mostly uninspired and dull. Warp in, shoot at red icons, collect isk/loot.

Well I’m going to vote “other” if I could.

As for PVE or PvP, the game has always been both of these things. They need to be balanced properly so people are able to enjoy the game’s design. If new content leans toward PvE or PvP I don’t think it makes a difference.

The poll just shows that the players do want both of these things. Neither side is more correct.

Any gaming task that you repeat 1000s of times is bound to become boring no matter how good/bad it is designed. I remember when I first got Final Fantasy 7 on the PS1 where you controlled a group of characters and you had to keep fighting random baddies in order to level up. At first it was great seeing all their fighting moves and limit breaks and when they summoned deities. But it got stale after the 3000th time doing it which I think is something that can’t be avoided within a game world. Eve has actually been quite lucky in this respect because we have to PVE in order to maintain our sov financially and to ensure there is a good stream of combat sites available in the systems you own. Eve is a clever design which is probably why I’m still here after almost 17 years.

I think Eve has found a good balance of Pve and PVP, I suppose we PVP to secure our PVE area and we PVE to secure funding for our PVP. It seems in Eve Online you can’t have one without the other.

Uh-oh. You defended the very nature of EVE. Be prepared to face the wrath of the nay sayers!!
