Gankers and freighters, a request for discussion. Not a BJ RANT

You are confusing the PEG field, with PEG capacitors as a power source.

The PEG field is not on, unless the ship is in warp.

That bubble and “peg” you see in the graphics, only occurs when the ship has completed its alignment, and initiates warp (via PEG field).

It is not there when its flying around with conventional propulsion (ie: bumping other ships).

The PEG field, is only a factor in terms of collision, when in warp.
Not before or after.
The fact we visually fly through planets during warp, is another matter, but not relevant to non-warp bumping.

Ill send MaxSingularity an email sometime this week, and ask for confirmation on bumping when not in warp.

Did you miss the part where a ship is an anchor with only 3-5 PEGs online
It needs 6+ online to do whatever

How do you think ships stop if there’s no exhaust ports up front? :joy:

And as usual it’s pointless to argue with you (so surprised /s)

The PEG field, which you misunderstand as affecting bumping outside of warp, is only in effect during warp.

The PEG field does not apply to maneuvering with conventional propulsion, AB, or MWD, and not to collision either.

The PEG field is only present during warp, and only applies to collisions during warp.

You have fundamentally misunderstood/misrepresented what was said in that presentation.

It does not apply to bumping with ships using conventional propulsion.

Also (from the Space Pope

A single PEG will create a PEG Field. They are only on when they are running and can be off lined. See the Prophecy trailer after the EM pulse.

There will always be a PEG field, because no PEG, no power, no control

Let’s try: what is bumping gives a suspect status ONLY if ship has more than it’s maximum normal speed (which means bump happened while or soon after propmod was used)?

If I bump an Orca into a Freighter the Orca has a lot higher speed than max normal, so it would go suspect. Also prop mods are used by a lot of other people, namely miners who want to avoid bumping and I’m sure it could be used to make them go suspect as well.

next

Something else to think about.

You can normally only get a suspect flag if you set the safety to yellow. If the safety is on green I can’t do anything that would make me suspect. So what if I bump and have the safety to green? Do I slide trough the target or is that safety setting no longer important and we can suddenly become suspect while on green?

I don’t understand why this thread is still going, it was clearly established that this is a Lrn2Play/DoingItWrong issue.

Some of you must be in the wrong game.

Thread evolution…

Somehow we gravitated to PEG’s and Ramming.

–Gadget swore she looked away for only a second

Don’t know if you noticed, but there is always “this thread”.

“This thread” being: “Fix the game so I can win in a 10(?)v1 gank while flying an unarmed ship solo?”

Indeed.

And if you close it, two more shall take its place.

Jump Freighter pilot here.

I don’t think anything about suicide ganking should be changed.

Lazy or incompetent people get ganked, people that have made personal enemies get ganked, maybe the odd unlucky person gets ganked, that’s about it.

I’ve never felt in danger of being ganked in my JF, and why should I? I have a scout, I have a directional scanner and most importantly, I have an exit cyno ready to go and in fleet at all times. If I jump a gate and see anything even vaguely suspicious: right click capacitor -> jump. Problem solved.

I’m against any changes to the current gank mechanics.

Big +1 from another Jump Freighter pilot.

It’s a broken mechanic that CCP has no idea or enthusiasm to fix since fixing it entirely would involve fixing the “neutral alt” issue , the broken beyond belief war mechanics and most frighteningly the ancient retarded corporation management UI.

In other words - too much work.

I’m reserving judgement till Ive emailed MaxSingularity whether PEG fields result in bumping outside of warp.

Who is the “0” source in your reddit screenshot?

Does it matter? (And it’s Facebook, which is why I didn’t leave the whole name)
I got the response from Max Singularity and posted it here.

Why do you keep denying when you’ve had facts posted over and over?
I am right about this like I was about a lot of other stuff…

Both the question and answer that screenshot are not specific to whether the PEG field repels other ships outside of warp.

0 may have misunderstood your question “The PEG field that does all the bumping stuff is always on?” to mean during warp.

Do you have a link to the entire thread?

?
Then how do we know who “0” is?

The PEG field is always on

What’s hard to comprehend?
Are you simply denying the truth because it’s not the one you wanted it to be?

If I’m wrong, I will readily admit it.
But there are still extant questions.

Do you have a link to the entire thread?
How do we know this is from MaxSingularity?
What is the rest of the context?
