You can always warp off in the direction you are moving.

Your point was…?

Not if you are tackled, that’s why bumping has nothing to do with tackling

Then what is bump-tackling?

something different than tackling, since you can still warp off in the direction you are moving

Does bumping not prevent warp (ie: is a tackle) if not bumped in the direction of their warp destination?

No need when no one can warp at all, because of unintended consequenses.

Bumpin does what it does. You woul need to tinker with warp mechanics to affect ‘bump-tackling’.

Dangerous and unneeded.

Here is a solution:

It does not stop you from warping, it just messes with the alignment. Just chose another warp destination and warp off. That is not possible when tackled.

The tinkering wont affect anything else, except bumping to prevent warping.

That’s where lore comes to help making some scientific blah-blah like warp drives and stuff.

Actually we already have unbumpable objects: stations, gates, asteroids, even containers and wrecks.

You know your idea will not magically become less dumb just because someone makes up some scify blah-blah.

I think I already told you that bumping does not prevent warping since you can still warp of in the direction you are moving. Please try to keep up

Oh man…
The dishonesty/self-interest is so deep here.

Everything I wrote was true. I told you to not talk about a topic you have no clue about. Maybe there is a thread somewhere that talks about sitting in station, maybe more up your alley.

Do you have any idea how ironic that sounds coming from you?

No. Your current proposal would greatly widen the area of instant warp for undocking, for one. That’s assuming all goes as planned with implementation.

Hardly a problem, since its already possible to instawarp to a prepared destination.

Hm… It looks like the idea itself has some merit…

(Else You would disregard it using in-game reasons and not out-of-game ones. Like you did to my previous idea.)

Within a narrow cone. Widening the cone makes predicting, or interdicting, station jumps much harder, again, for no good reason.

Holy crap, it’s like you don’t even play the game. I can still get tackled on the undock if I get a bad vector, that happens quite often since I’m -10 and hordes of carebears camp the station I’m in (I’m a star you know).

This would give me 100% secure warp every single time.
