Carebears crying that it’s too easy to get ganked in a goddamn Venture of all things has to be a new low. It was literally designed to be a fast, hard to catch mining ship for dangerous territory. It even has stabs on by default for chrissakes. Literally all you have to do is pay attention to d-scan once in a while. The reason it’s ganked so often is extremely obvious - it’s a cheap entry level mining ship used by many new players who still haven’t learned the basics of survival.
At this point the inevitable conclusion is that you aren’t really interested in actually playing the game or learning even the basics of how it works. I think mobile idle clickers might be more your speed.
Wrecks in HS should be unlootable, as seized by Concord on the crime scene. Both gankers and victim wrecks/loot. Then made available to the victim pilot in Asset Safety some days later for some fees. Gankers does not make Eve, and they are so happy to boast they can adapt, so they will certainly not whine on such change . Killing still happen. Destruction still happen. Mafia like corps/alliances still send their “money for protection” mail.
I would suggest gankers be put in jail. At this stage of the game, Concord podding someone that ganked is a completely silly and meaningless “punishment”. If Concord catches them, their whole character gets put into “asset safety”/jail for a certain period of time. Maybe up to a week or two for -10 security status. Maybe even longer for repeat offenders. Pretty common concept out in real-world crime of increased punishment for repeat offenders. If humans brought their ideas and concepts when they jumped thru the EVE gate, this one would have certainly come with, too. That should curb suicide ganking a bit when a ganker can only gank once a month. Like its been said, have to adapt or die. Ya know?
My real big suggestion is to get rid of multi-boxing to reign in ganking. Let’s be real, ganking is really just one person with a bunch of alt’s, and a random alt hauler not tied to the gankers in any way, all run by one person at the same time. (A lot of ganking is probably done to fund still another true main character not associated with any of the gankers alts). Good luck trying to gank with just one ship, then scrambling to log off and log in the alt hauler to get to the wreck, while everyone else rushes in to loot it instead. Adapt or die?
I concur. If we get rid of CONCORD or make them much more ineffectual, more forms of PvP in highsec can thrive that does not require min-maxing along a single dimension („as much DPS in as short time as possible“) which means people that don’t multibox can now play instead. Highsec can have more normal forms of PvP that do not involve miltiboxing, leveling the playing field for those that can’t afford 10 Omega catalyst accounts.
I agree. Only antisocial psychopaths would ever consider ganking, let alone actually do it. They are a blight in proper society and shouldn’t be allowed to walk among the proper and upright citizens. They should be incarcerated immediately!
CCP needs to send the ISP addresses of all known gankers to the respective law enforcement so these people can be arrested!
And the funny ironic thing, is that with ganking nerfed into the ground, EvE still isn’t a better place according to those that think ganking doesn’t make EvE a better place.
But I read posts by gankers saying that the changes didn’t affect ganking or didn’t change much for them. So maybe it wasn’t “nerfed to the ground” ?
Conflicting information on this issue makes me go
You mean all the gankers who came screaming at me that CCP was killing the playstyle with these changes and that ganking was dead weren’t telling me the truth?
Watched today as Novus Ordo went on a ganking run. Some dude that looks like he gave this game a try back in 2007/2008. Then didn’t show up again till 2019, where he lost a battleship. Disappeared until 2021, where he did some skirmishes in Trig space. And came back in 2023, where his 2.8billion ship was ganked, along with his 2.3billion pod.
It is claimed that major loss (the thing gankes specifically look for to do) is what will make one most likely to come back and play more?
I think it safe to say this dude didn’t cheer for joy over his 5+billion loss, get giddy about coming back tomorrow and mining until he recouped the losses, then look forward to figuring out this game even better for the next time.
