Ganking and quitting

 Just commenting on this before I catch up on the rest of the thread…

I had a great time in PvP yesterday, chasing a similar age toon to myself, who, actually could have beaten me if his ship was fitted/flown in a few ways, and NOT actually getting a kill. I shot 8 T2 light drones, but couldn’t catch him. Great fun, and although I should really have reshipped/refitted it was fun just to fanny about while finishing work and push a little active PvP into that FW area.

YES, it was PvP, and no one got blown up. I’d say he won, and I’d say that to him, although I’d already won the |sk war :stuck_out_tongue:

Pretty interesting, unfortunately I think people will just cherrypick stuff from this even if what is said doesn’t necessarily apply to what is written in this thread. Just look at @Mu_ad_Diib’s comment.

Like for example, that psychopaths will never feel remorse. So they will argue gankers are psychopaths, cause they don’t feel remorse for their actions. But should you feel remorse, when you play a game according to it’s rules? This is not the place to expect people to rationally think about things.

So now you’re not going to answer. Mmkay.

eh, still isk

Exactly. “Psychopathy” (aka antisocial personality disorder) involves an unwillingness or inability to adhere to rules, laws, and cultural values and norms. In EVE Online, blowing people up - anywhere, anytime - is pretty on par with the culture of antagonistic competition and belligerence of EVE Online.

EVE Online also has a culture of cooperation and helpfulness. There’s a niche for everyone.

What we have here is a small and very vocal group of people who… are unable to follow this cultural value and norm of aggressive antagonism. They come on the forums and call people “sociopaths”…

Read the whole post you muppet. It’s a two and a half hour film which you would have known had you watched it before posting the link (still hilarious).

I’m not going to comment (properly) until I’ve watch the whole thing! For the record I’m now 17mins 19sec in…

Calm down, miner.

You said that

and I asked you to explain how. Stop avoiding it and answer “so far”.

Sounds great!

Though as I mentioned in a follow up, I meant if no combat or intent to combat takes place, such as market trading etc.

But Yeah basically if you are opposed to another player’s actions and game play comes of it, thats PvP in my book.

Patronising me means you pretty much have lost the argument. I’m only responding to this because although you behaving trollishly it’s blatantly hilarious because you screwed up and now can’t get yourself out of the hole you dug for yourself. Literally LMAO

Your post…

But you did this before even watching it. How exactly did you know whether it was good or not? It’s not a major problem because as it happens it is quite good, but like I said, I want to watch the whole thing before commenting properly.

Have a nice day.

I bet you’re the kind of person who bends down to pick up a penny, lol.

No comment, sir

Oh, is this the part where you say this:

and then say:

?

Talk about a lack of fairness and self awareness.

What are you talking about?

… how do you know I haven’t watched the video before…?

So you’re admitting that this comment:

was improper and unsubstantiated?

No, it means that you have lost the argument by being the sort of angry miner that gets patronized.

Yeah, sorry, caught that as I read more, but that, for me, was great PvP.

I’ve not got the attention span in game to do too much of my IRL stuff, so logistics, c/b analysis, spreadsheets for price predictions etc are not my play. Transversal vs Tracking sums, and jobs good for me!

Fly easy.

He feels so little remorse for calling you a muppet, he doesn’t even acknowledge it as an insult.

Sounds like a psychopath to me

You too! o7

Oh boy. I sense a conniption coming.

Never mind. I see it already happened. Or is in the process of happening still.

You, sir, are a natural in the fine art of foruming. Xuixien is positively frothing. Well done.

Mr Epeen :sunglasses:

This is actually a really great point.

I frequently see posts from him abusing other players and calling them names. He never apologizes.

When the insults are returned, he’s rather fragile about it and is quick to jump on it and call attention to how he was slighted.

He also doesn’t seem to be able to adhere to the social and cultural norms of EVE Online.

He’s like a professor who fails you after you submit a paper that is well-written, but contains arguments with which he personally disagrees.

I got my 1st pvp kill inside 30 days. What’s your excuse again? :man_shrugging:

I like that! :+1:

Finally caught up on reading.

All I get from this thd is someone started a hard game. Was repeatedly warned it was hard and failed at it.
