Ganking has gone too far

Man I play on and off since 2006 there has been negligent amount of high sec ganking back then and player driven economy was working just fine so that whole argument is load of crap.

There was however a large amount of other shenanigans going on with can flipping and baiting that were pretty much killed with CrimeWatch 2.0 and lead to the rise of suicide ganking as one of the only ways to interact criminally in highsec.

His core point is sound: destruction drives this game and in highsec ganking is a significant source of destruction, not to mention that highsec is where most characters are. Building things lost to PvP is keeps a large number of people playing this game.

The predators are where the preys are, it’s simple as that.

You are totally making me jealous

Well said … Exactly my point of view… BUT what destroying 2 days old pl in Corvettes will help economy???

Since that’s not happening, it’s an irrelevant concern.

This thread is still going wew

Since you’re just a bunch of entitled millenials your ideas of right and wrong are so skewed that i’m not surprised at your lack of common decency and basic comprehension, curse of your generation.

I thought we were discussing about ganking here, not throwing personal insults at others.

But I understand. A lot of salty people act like you do :frowning: It’s not too late to get your mining permits and become a better pilot though, so there is still hope for you!

Funny how CODE bit the hand that paid its fee for the tournament.

Spanking thread?

Moral platitudes don’t apply to space pixels, sorry. What’s right is what’s allowed by the game rules, what’s wrong is that which breaches the EULA and/or TOS. That’s it. That’s the definition of right and wrong in any game. Moral right and wrong are real life issues, not video game issues. Otherwise, GTA wouldn’t be so popular.

Highly doubtful, I’d take a stab at guessing most of the people disagreeing with you actually fall under the classification of generation x.

X or early to mid Y

Generation X is 1965-1976/80
Gen Y, also known as millennials, is 1977-95 or 1980-96 depending on who you ask.
Centennials is 96 onwards

I’ve been bamboozled
I always thought millenials were the bunch after (1995 onwards)

Heh I had to look it up just to be sure, dependant on source there’s differences in the years.

Im pretty sure you are younger than most people in this thread.

[As an aside: It’s not just a difference in the source of data, it is also a difference in actual demographics. Beginning with the Baby Boomers, some countries started later because their war stopped in 1946 not 1945; plus there was the issue of length of time to repatriate troops after the end of the war eg to Australasia; issues of rebuilding/displaced people, etc. So, if you “control for sources” (re definitions used), some countries like USA, UK, Australia will genuinely be 2+ years apart, which follows through the subsequent generations.]

Most of the people who disagree are code; they dont actually do much but sit around waiting to shoot someone who cant shoot back.
Whilst i see ganking for profit as legitimate business (its pirate tactics basically) a lot of what they do is grade a bs. Everyone knows the biggest industrial region is delve, and not highsec at all.

But they have too much time on their hands and dont want their fun ruined because the rest of the game needs it…

No one can say this effects industry but it does effect the playerbase, and whilst its true these guys are probably just mining on alphas its also true they are unlikely to sub - if developers want to keep their game alive and have more new people join (i think that was the point of the alphas??) there has to be some balance in highsec for chilled out styles of gamplay.

Id suggest a fix of a different security sec status thing where people who gank stuff less than xxx or people with low sp get a special ‘psychotic and dangerous tag’.
IP gets marked as being unruly and generally bad for player retention; dissallow the making of xxso many more altsxx; character gets marked with a number, starts actually getting shot by concord, dissallows tethering etc.

I live in null, i dont really have to care but its a knock on effect, people have to have time to develop before feeling confident enough to venture out; some never will - and there are plenty of people out there that wont sub because of this type of gameplay, my father for example - who is 67… disabled people… people who used to pvp and do nullsec stuff but have aged in the last 15 years, may have suffered a stroke; im not saying highsec should be safe, far from it; what im saying is all you little turds that think your ‘pvping’ in highsec are exactly that, little scared turds; in highsec.
